We are not that good simple as that. We are not top 10 or even top 20, not with Rosier under center. I have been reading how good this team was, how much stronger they were, and seeing coaches post pictures of strength gains on Twitter. I have been reading reports of an improved Rosier/Line all summer long. Even Shaq's dad who is an excellent poster was saying the the team was "chippy" because they wanted to show LSU that they could not push them around and wanted to make a statement . This was reminiscent of when Louisville blew us out after we jumped up and down on their logo. We talked smacked at the beginning of the game , got into a shoving match and then got our collective butt handed to us by a team that proved that it could dominate us.
The worst part of all this? This is not even a good LSU team. Sure their defense is nasty but they had a third string QB who threw for less than 150 yds and didn't throw a TD. I mean this cat sucked and we lost 33-17 ( 33-3 and we got some garbage TDs after they brought half their backups and were on cruise control). This also serves as confirmation bias in the eyes of many recruits on the superiority of the SEC. You have the #2 ACC team that is supposedly the #8 team in the nation and a team that was as dysfunctional as LSU who didn't even have an offensive identity straight up manhandled us. When I remember last year when Campbell chose UGA 9 bags but still) and then Surtian chose Bama... they asked Surtain why he chose Bama and he said because they play for national championships and my goal is to win a national Championship. What did Mama do game 1? dropped 51 on Ville and manhandled them like if they were playing Savannah State. Recruits are seeing this. They are seeing a sub par SEC team with a coach manhandle the U... you think it's enticing for them to come IN YEAR 3 ????
So here are some common sense changes that I think can help our team moving forward and it HAS TO START WITH MARK RICHT:
- Grow some balls, and start giving more first team snaps to all your QBS, bench Rosier because we have had a body of work with him for a year and he is mr 45%. We have 4 games before FSU to break in a Weldon/Perry/ Williams. I rather grow with them and have them hitting 40 % and growing as the season goes along than Rosier who honestly looks exactly like the Pitt/Clemson guy.
-Start playing your young O-Linemen more, That means Scaife/ Campbell and Reed. yes they may not be that game ready, but you have 3 cupcakes to get them to start gelling a bit in anticipation for North Carolina and eventually FSU. If they pass the test you have significantly improved your o-Line.
-Play the backup kicker.. Baxa has no business playing college football.
- Stop the mass substitutions on D. The first TD why the **** was knowles in the game with Jennings! I mean seriously , these upper classmen / less talented reserves SUCK ! Leave your best players or allow some of the Storm 18 cats to get some burn. Let Carter and Hall loose, these guys are savages and were brought here for a reason.
-Throw IPF amount of bags to Darnell Wright, Evan Neal, and any **** Line worth a lick. We got manhandled and our line couldn't even pick up a blitz. I mean at this point I don't even care about Stevenson/ Battle ( my fav recruit), we need line work badly. LSU Oline opened lanes all day for an UNPROVEN BACK and Homer couldn't get jack .
- Recruit a QB EVERY YEAR
Finally I don't want to hear excuses from Richt. Richards is a **** hero in my book. He called out Rosier because he plain sucks, that is being a **** leader. All the WRs are mad at this clown. Thomas is going to get killed one day trying to catch one of his dangerous passes. For the Stans that say on you are overreacting to just one game. Don't give me that crap. he was a 40 ish % passer last year and he showed you what he was made of in Pitt, Clemson, Wisconsin and now LSU. They have figured him out and he's done. It's the first game of the season you say? Overreacting? Nick Freaking Saban pulled his starting QB in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Do you think Right has the balls to do that? **** no!
