The silence coming out of Miami this week is deafening!

Outside of the obligatory after practice player interviews and the typical breakdown of the opponent from Mark Richt, there hasn't been a peep out of anyone. No trash talk, nothing on twitter, zero, zip, nada! All we have heard our players and coaches say is what a great well coached team App St is and what a challenge it will be playing on the road in Boone. Keep in mind that this silence comes in the midst of ESPN and many other media hacks picking App St to beat us outright and plenty of disrespect and trash talk from App fans and college football fans in general.

What does this tell me? Well it says a few things. First it tells me that The Grim Richter has complete control of the locker room and the respect of this team. Secondly it tells me that these kids are focused and locked in on App St. This isn't and can't be a "trap game" thanks to the media, ESPN in particular. These fools in their brazen desire to coddle one of their $EC darlings have made absolutely sure that this game has our full attention. It tells me that behind the scenes, this team is foaming at the mouth and counting the minutes until kickoff. Our guys have done nothing but heap endless praise on App St. Other than that they have been noticeably silent. These kids plan on making their statement on the field and the statement they make will tell us and everyone else plenty about the mental makeup of this football team. During the offseason I wasn't particularly excited about this matchup but thank to all the talking heads out there I am absolutely focused and fired up for this game! I want this one really bad. Imagine how much this team wants it. I can't wait! Bring on the mighty App Store!

I honestly can't even sleep right now because of how fired up I am for this game. Just watched the Pinckney and Shaq interview from this week again. Pinkney has me hyped right now!!!! Noon can't get here fast enough. Only 8 hours to go!

i like your analysis i kinda felt that way about the season in general leading up to the first game. No one gave us too much insight other than the conditioning differences from last year, the family aspect of the team, and the competition in practice. Just seemed like they were hiding the excitement that they knew this team has talent and can be a force to be reckoned with this season. I'm so fired up for today can't wait to order the pizza for the game!!! GO CANES!!!

I hear you Francis, but good night those are stories , rants and then paragraphs..

But yes, Canes better play fired up. Cause I know West Coast UM fans are fired up to see them play live.

Long live the Motha ****** University of Miami!!

This game is going to address 2 very important areas for this is App St's equivalent of their National Championship Game. App St is for real guys!!

1) Cam MR win so called "Big Games". He has a history of not doing so. All one has to do is look at his history in Jacksonville against the Gayturds where he consistently lost to an inferior Florida team year after year. Has MR learnt his lessons?

2) Is our Team for real?

This game has the potential to spring us forward into a winning/championship team. Can we win on the road, in hostile environments, against the odds, with a coach with a not so good resume of winning the big ones!

we are favored against an inferior opponent. do not misinterpret the moment. this game does nothing for us, and everything for them. if we win, it's a win. FSU, ND and UNC are the important games this season. @ APP ST is only important if we don't play well.

Excellent post, nothing from Miami but praise for Appy. And not a peep from any player...nothing!
I think the majority of App fans are whistling through the graveyard, trying really hard to be confident, but deep down they know.

This was a key for me: I heard no shiny bullsh*t coming out of the Canes' Lockerroom.

Nothing. Complete silence.

All we heard was the noise and the disrespect from App State.

To paraphrase Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson at Chancellorsville, the University of Miami Hurricanes will be heard from today.

Well, you know, if you're planning on killing a **** it's best not to talk about it before hand.

Totally, totally, totally disagree. We are only favored by 3.5 points!! This is a very important game for us. It will be a pivotal game when we look back after the season. App St. is **** good! We need to win this game. This will spring us forward psychologically into the toughest part of our schedule. Losing would be devastating.
