The rumors are flying in the DMV area about Butch Davis

I have played football in the area and have many friends that coach at major football high schools in the region. Dont kill the messenger but everyone in the DMV knows edsall is out and most of the power high school programs think Butch Davis will be favored by Maryland heavily. Butch has very strong recruiting ties to the DC and PG county area. The rumors started in the summer and they seem to be stronger than ever....

If the BORG fuggs this up we're all done with that circus. If Butch goes to Maryland the meltdown would be epic. We're talkin' seismic, Richter scale proportions.
 
exactly. people try to say no one wants him. it's BS. he is waiting this season out to see if UM will give him a shot.
 
If true, it's a smart play on the part of Butch's camp. Gotta create a buzz and a likelihood that you won't be there if UM waits too long.

I hope he does wait on UM. But he has alot of people in Maryland who really want this and believe that he can keep the majority of local talent home. If you look at just some of the top talent in the area. I have heard out of some major high school coaches mouths that Locksley and the regime before him really has rubbed them the wrong way. Nick saban, Jimbo Fisher and Urban Meyer have made super strong connections in the area... As a Cane fan I hope this isn't true but even some of the local low level college coaches in the DMV believe Maryland wants Butch Davis....
 
If this happens and Miami hires Hue Jackson, Cristobal, or some other assclown as head coach I am done. Burn my cane card and **** on it. I'll be a Terp.
 
Yeah, it's all apart of his master plan. He's been out of college football for all these years because he knew Al Golden would be fired...eventually. He told all of those vacant coaching positions over the past 5 years to eff off cuz he knew this was going to happen. He's now using Maryland as leverage against the Canes.

GTFOH. I want the man here as much as you guys but you're naiive if you think Butch has been turning down jobs waiting for the Canes job to open up. AND if you think he would turn down a Maryland offer just to see of our BoT finally grows a pair and fires our PoS coach.

once he got cleared by NCAA, people started reaching out to him.

I live in Maryland, and would never be a fan of that 2nd rate program.

Of course, as a Cane fan, I wish we were higher than 3rd rate.

Easy for me. I went to Maryland for grad school and am from the DC area. Can still remember how good they were when I was a little kid and they had Jim Tatum.

I'm sure he's talked to some but have there been offers? It's just unrealistic to think he's turning down jobs waiting for Miami to come calling.

I'm dumbfounded as to how he hasn't gotten a job anywhere. The man is badazz and would do wonders again here but common, if he wanted to coach again and had an offer why wouldn't he take it?
