The punt block wqs obviously THE critical PLAY of the game. But it shouldn't have mattered.

We played 1 half of football offensively on Monday night. Whether it was game plan or effort, our offense didn't come ready to play.

In the 2nd half we had 280 yards of freaking offense and 21 points.

All that preparation time and we do what we did 1st half....just poor.

I get what you saying and you are not completely wrong, but you can take any play in isolation and say that a play shouldn't have mattered.

We lost because it all happened. Remove any one mistake, penalty, poor O, miss block, and the win is more probable.

And Indiana can do the same thing. If we want to replay the game without our mistakes, they get the opportunity to do that as well. The truth is that one of the two teams was going to lose.

You don't win championship football games that are close when you have a punt blocked for a TD. Take away 7 points from Indiana on that play and we win 21 to 20. It was the biggest play of the game for them besides the fourth down TD run by Mendoza.

Punt block for free 7 points will matter in nearly every game that isnt a blowout.

When it involves a punt deep inside the zone, it can represent a 7-13 point swing.

As a fellow low-count poster, I make sure not to start pointless new threads.

Some advice, OP, this post could’ve been made in countless existing threads…

So, punt block for TD shouldn’t matter? Got it🤓
