Funny how NCAA retreats when actually faced with a compelling authoritative body.

How in the world did society tolerate these do nothing academics pretending to be in charge?

Granted Walker's legislation may go nowhere, but make no mistake, NCAA is in full panic mode now behind scenes.

They've got until 2023 to figure something out. I'm all for players getting money but wonder if this won't fracture any team camaraderie that exists. I mean, QBs and skill position players will easily earn alot, at least compared to linemen and reserves who comparatively will have little opportunity/demand.

Certain schools will likely have boosters that will “sell” thousands of jerseys of each player. Other boosters will ensure that all copies of said jerseys are bought, and therefore everyone will be guaranteed at least a base salary.

That’s not true at all. Position value isn’t just TDs. Jerome was a star. Joaquin would have gotten attention. Medearis too. Ray Lewis, Barrow, Taylor.

No different than real life. Not everyone has equal value and multiple factors impact value.

As far as I can see

There would be a lot of players on the current Canes roster who would have virtually no value as an autograph signer, jersey seller, speaker, endorser or anything else. They have no market value. What happens to/for them?

I don’t understand your question at all. What happens to them? They get to play, get an education, whatever. They aren’t harmed because a teammate is worth more. That’s ridiculous and anti-American to even suggest. shame on you and your commie mindset.

Isn't that going to be true on every team?

So what? Those boosters are spending the money already.
So what? Now our players can get a cut as well. That's what. The NCAA has allowed certain teams to pay players for years, and crucify, or at least try to, others for a few steak dinners. That ends soon.

This is just the start of what will be sweeping changes.

When was the last time you saw a Searcy, McKinnie or Romberg jersey? I've seen more Huerta jerseys than all the OL jerseys combined.

The barbarians are storming Emmert's castle ..... long live the barbarians!!!

Burn it down!

I would think Miami would have some real good opportunities from businesses down here. We don’t have the booster depth but we have lots of opportunities with South Beach

You are going to have guys getting paid and not wanting to play kinda like the bowl games but it will get worse. It will ruin locker rooms you think the bag game is bad now wait till it's out in the open of what players are getting for endorsements. Especially with the high school coaches are going to put a kid to the highest bidder its going to be ridiculous

I’m skeptical of how much this really changes things. In the end, the programs dropping the biggest bags are just going to pay more.
*MAYBE* some advantage for more urban programs like us, USC, UCLA, Houston, etc but still not certain.

the stars are always going to make the money, nothing new here.

Same thing that happens to the majority of guys on a pro roster that don't get endorsements, they play and get a paycheck/free education like they do now.
