Mark Richt was exactly the hire Miami needed to stabilize and revitalize our dying program. He will do two very important things:
1. Modernize our football program- Not only will our pay for our HC go up but I'm sure Richt wouldn't accept the job without assurances of increased pay for football (coordinators) and support staff. Being a coach in the best and most competitive conference, I'm sure he'll also push extremely hard for improvements to our facilities.
2. He'll win games- Will he win a NC? I don't know, if you put a gun to my head and asked me to predict I'd probably say no. But he'll stabilize our program, make us relevant and competitive again, and give us our first back to back 9-double digit win seasons since 2002-2003.
Next time our job opens, we'll be in a much stronger position.
