Here is why... In the past we would have fired Golden and replaced him with another unproven dumpster fire waiting to happen. Actually hiring a quality coach heals a lot of wounds. Firing Golden was certainly the first step, but making a quality hire was even more important.

Agreed. Banners certainly helped but if we don't lose 58-0 then golden makes it to the end of the season at least.. Then we miss out on richt.

I have said that the idiotic white man "Dabo Dance" saved Miami Hurricane football from possible extinction. Perhaps they change coaches but would Swasey still be here if the score had been say 27-20? Not out of the realm of possibilities.

Can't agree. Mark might end up being the high point but that is a huge unknown. He is tremendous improvement on Al but that is a very low bar. I expect a lot from Mark but firing Al is like winning a war. Sure the peace needs to be secured, but the bleeding only stops when you win the war. Firng Al was that war. At the moment, Mark is still a coach another school fired too.
