There will be so many new ways to buy H.S. athletes now, it's not even funny. They are ruining the game. If the NCAA wants to give the players a hourly wage, that is the same across the board for every school, then that is fine, but giving them the ability to sell their likeness and such will result in there being even fewer Haves and many more have nots as far as teams are concerned.

Heck, Harvard has the largest endowment, they oughta petition to become D1, buy all the best athletes through "legal means" and wipe the floor with BAMA, CLEMSON, the *'s, etc.

Your title is a disaster. That said, paying everybody the same was the only way to have a shot at parity. If this becomes even more about who has the most cash, college football is done.

You're hysterical!! Thanks for the critique, prof. I don't remember asking for a creative writing assessment.

Can't Miami see some silver lining here ?? I mean being one of the cultural and entertainment meccas in the country, wouldn't he rather have his face and name married to something hip and sophisticated in Miami rather then have his face plastered all over Jo Don's car and bike emporium in Tuskkkaloosa ???

Said this weeks ago.
This will only widen the gap across the sport as now a booster can pay a high school player whatever is “fair” for an autograph.

the majority of players won’t get much of anything.

It further steers black athletes away from focusing on their education for a quick buck.

its not all about you my dude.....let them make money off THEIR OWN image
Problem is, this will be so easy to navigate around for rich donors of the chasing schools. Now, they have a legal way to set up the students to get paid. If you own a car dealership for instance, now, you just have that student do a commercial advertising the dealership and skidoosh! The player is driving around in an $80K SUV or whatever.

Not only will it wreck the sport, but it will wreck a bunch of kids who aren't used to that kind of money.

Ruining it?

Under the NCAA as politboro, Alabama and SEC generally win because Emmert!

How could this make it worse? (Hint: it can’t.)

Harvard is D1 and they are not leaving the Ivy league

Paying players won’t change anything. Boosters will continue to do their thing. What they do now is against the rules. Does anyone believe boosters will suddenly stop buying recruits?

I know these designations have changed, but my point is, if this just becomes moneybag, it'll no longer be about the area, the school's football tradition, etc. It will simply become about which fanbase has the capacity to pay more money to these kids.
