The ACC and Notre Dame caused this chaos! The ACC deserves the brunt of the criticism putting two mid level teams in the conference championship. We all know Virginia and Duke were not the best in the league. Miami, GT, Pitt and ND were all better Let’s face it, ND is a ACC school playing six ACC opponents in football. Despite denying not being in the league on the football side of things. Never should have happened! Here’s the truth, ND would have played in the ACC championship game, had they made normal arrangements, with a real shot of making the playoffs. They should’ve played the best team meaning Miami then that would’ve open to door for Vandy with JMU out. The ACC screwed Miami, ND and next best team.
What makes Notre Dame a joke is the recent comment that the ACC “ caused permanent damage”. STFU! They negotiated that deal! Whoopsie! It backed fired, now they want to point the finger while they were snickering after that ACC weird arrangement. They thought they outsmarted the system and got burned. I have zero sympathy for them after their comments.
Also, the committee/Alabama connection needs to be investigated! Last year the committee said idle teams shouldn’t move in the rankings. This year they said losing a conference championship shouldn’t be punished. Well those contradicting statements only favor one team both years. Alabama!
