Miami exited Early NSD with 21 blue chip recruits, out of 30 overall players. Let's have a look at how this compares to previous years of talent acquisition:

Just taken at face value, Miami is slightly down versus last year.

However we're including the transfer portal in the above graph, and in 2025 Mario brought in 19 players, 9 of whom were blue chip players.

Let's refine it further to just high school players.

In the Early Signing Day for what will be the 2026 class, Miami had the highest number of high school blue chips in twenty years of tracking.

The 2026 class has the second highest average composite score of any class in the last twenty seasons. Furthermore, the classes in the last four years has averaged at least a .9063. Only one signing class (2018) prior to 2022 was above .9000.

Excluding the 2008 class, which is skewed by only one signee, this was the second highest rated offensive line haul of the last twenty years.

In comparison, here are the last 21 signing classes for quarterback:

Going back to the 2002 class, Dereon Coleman is the 12th highest rated quarterback.

Below are the last 21 high school signing classes for wide receivers:

Excluding classes that had only one wide receiver, 2026 was the third highest rated during that span.

Going back to 2002, Somourian Wingo is the seventh highest rated wide receiver that we have signed.

Man out bear doing work while we scream at games we’re not even in lol.

2025 and 2026 are the classes that bring us back to dynasty status. I see it.

Mario has been signing playoff caliber HS classes for several years now, and last year topped them off with playoff caliber portal additions, several of whom are returning. This fly wheel is now in motion. There's still some friction to overcome and we need more elite players. But we are now talented and deep enough, with a process to restock every year, that we should be an annual contender for the playoffs going forward.

2026 was the first time that we signed two blue chip tight ends in back to back classes.

Excluding classes that had only one tight end, 2026 was the second highest rated during that span.

Going back to 2002, Gavin Mueller is the seventh highest rated tight end that we have signed.

Keyshawn Stancil is the sixth highest rated defensive tackle signed since 2002, and the ten signed in the last three classes represents the largest haul at the position during that time.

In the last four classes, Mario Cristobal has successfully recruited twelve blue chip recruits at defensive end. Miami had previously taken ten years to land twelve blue chippers (2013 - 2022)

In the 2023 - 2025 period an additional five linebackers were brought in through the transfer portal.

The seven blue chip cornerbacks signed in 2025 and 2026 are by far the most blue chip players signed in a two year period. In fact, only in 2012-2013 did Miami sign more cornerbacks overall.

Miami has signed a blue chip running back in seven consecutive signing classes.
