And so did Randy Shannon, the DC. Give credit where it's due. And, yes, Coker. He was head coach. When some tried to give Schnellenberger the credit for the '87 NC, because he recruited a lot of the players on that team, Schnelly said, "Give credit to Jimmy Johnson, somebody had to coach them."

As much as Coker and Shannon seem to be despised by so many fans now, Butch did recruit most of the players, he did put in place the systems and most of the coaches on the 2001 team, but you have to give Coker and Shannon credit for implementing and coaching throughout the season and winning all the games. It's unfair to not give at least give some credit to Coker for winning it all.

The Entire 01 team were Butch recruits (All of them)...Butch hired Shannon and Coker....2001 team didn't need a Larry Coker....Dorsey and Reed were Co HCs...
