That Felt Good

Jacurri can be real good. TVD is real good. Jake probably has a lot of talent as well. But we are killing all of them with our offense
I thought Gattis was very good in the 2 long drives not asking too much of Jacurri and then finishing the drives with easy flips to the tight end.

But then we had penalties and asked Jacurri to do too much as a straight drop back passer and we didn’t score for almost 2 quarters even after starting a drive on the Tech 45 yard line.

It was almost like Gattis was at his best when he was scared to ask too much of Jacurri, and ran the ball effectively. Jacurri this season is basically a running QB who should only be asked to make easy throws or on sideline routes with single coverage. Think of a college version of Justin Fields. It can work if a team is willing to commit to it as the Bears have finally done. Its not pretty but can be effective.

Jacurri does have something you can’t teach, a powerful arm. And he’s tall and can run.

I hate to even bring this up because I’m not comparing both of them, but do you remember how Jalen Hurts looked his freshman year. He looked like a running back shotputting airballs. No lie. We have threads about it if you go back far enough on this site. Nobody, and I mean nobody argued he was anything with but a running back with a half *** arm.

Now I’m not saying JB will ever be anything close to Hurts, ever, none of us has seen enough to make any kind of an accurate prediction about his future, but for a big ole running quarterback with not a ton of passing expertise, he’s not half bad, and I like his attitude. In my opinion TVD looks mentally defeated half the time, and Garcia? I’ve just seen a lot of bad decisions from him .

So what am I saying?

Yeah I’ll say it, go with JB the rest of the year.

“We cant even beat the teams we’re supposed to beat. Fire everyone ”

“Well it’s GT the suck. Calm down.”
This post is insinuating that the fans who want everyone fired are wrong because they beat a “team they’re supposed to beat”.
I’ll answer that when you tell me what the **** my post had to do with Gattis saving his job in any kind of way?
I asked you first but I still answered your question.

Why would you sarcastically **** on the fans that want Gattis fired and then say you’re not defending him in the next post?

Lol broooo Idk what you’re talking about. Unless I said Gattis shouldn’t be fired, then you’re making a really dumb assumption.

My post was simply about fans complaining about not beating teams, then telling everyone to not enjoy a win. Simple.

Ah, when you get called out on a mistake, just make it personal.

Still saying that no one on their roster was recruited by Miami?
So one guy. Out of 85 scholarship players. My point was that the talent levels between both teams aren’t even close and you knew that but you had to double down on being purposely obtuse. Just admit that you’re wrong and the talent levels between Miami and Georgia Tech aren’t even close.

so you couldn’t just say that when I asked?

Your original post read like you were trashing fans who want to fire coaches. I guess you weren’t. That’s why I asked

I agree with using JB the rest of this year. We don’t have an offense or OC capable of using TVD’s passing abilities sufficiently. Its almost a waste of possessions to have TVD playing for Gattis in this system.
At least with JB you can do things in the runing game to give ourselves a chance, and to slow down the game and reduce the number of possessions.

It’s basically admitting that our OC can’t coach or game plan a spread offense so we will be basic and use the QB best suited for what this OC can prepare for.

That, and given our girls current circumstances, JB gives us our best chance to win. I really didn’t know that much about Gattis before this season, like many here I assumed he knew what he was doing based on the general consensus and past results. Looks like he was in the right place at the right time in Michigan, but it also looks like he wasn’t the type of OC that you hand the reins of an offense to. Definitely not ready for that. It’s a foregone conclusion he’s gone, but no one will admit it until it’s time. Cautionary tale, don’t take a job unless you’re ready for it. Assuming what happened is what I think happened, but I’m just an outside observer like the rest of us.

At the same time I don’t want to take anything away from JB - yes he has had some missed throws, but he’s got a ton of raw talent. I never underestimate that. Obviously has to be developed, but the raw materials are definitely there.
