Does anyone think we should incorporate tempo during CERTAIN situations to catch the defense off guard, but not ALWAYS be running it?
For example, I would use tempo when you are moving the chains consistently and getting some chunk plays and the offense seems to be in rhythm
On the other hand, I would NOT be using tempo when you run the ball up the middle for 1 yard gains back to back putting yourself in 3rd and long, OR when it’s 4th and 1 on the goal line, and the play before should probably be reviewed anyway to see if the ball crossed the goal line (I know Cheney’s knee was down but just for the sake of using as an example)
