The idea that attendance will rise dramatically once this program has its own stadium is a myth that some clueless fans tell themselves to make themselves feel better

If anything, there might be a spike in attendance as fans want to experience the new stadium but that wears off and the team is right back where it started, playing in a half empty stadium. It's been proven time and again by sports teams both professional and college. A team is struggling on the field and in attendance. The owner convinces the fans that all they need is a new stadium. The city/county uses millions in tax dollars to finance a new stadium. Immediate interest in the team rises. The first few games in the new stadium are sold out as fans can't wait to experience the amenities. After a while, reality sets back in. The fans realize the team still isn't very good and they stop going to games. The only sure fire way to boost attendance in ANY sport, pro or college, is to win. People will come out in droves to see a winner.
