He's certainly an X and O's guy and has a reputation for being great with QB's. He knows what south florida is about and know's what type of defense to run in Miami.
Just looking at what he's done as a coordinator:
Had a Derek Anderson lead Browns team 8th in total offense in 07. Had a huge drop off in 08 after his offensive line completely fell apart. Then he went to Carolina with a rookie QB and ranked 7th in total offense, then 12th the next year.
Had a terrible 4-12 season as head coach of the Browns in 2013 with a terrible roster.
Sounds like a pretty strong resume for a guy who's pretty much a consultant with the Colts.
What's the knock on him, why doesn't he have a more involved role right now? Last time he was here I was too young to even know he existed. What's the main gripe about him as a college coach?
