Sad part is that the talent is there to COMPETE. I expect us to lose games it’s part of football and everyone not named Bama has looked bad if not horrible at some points this season. But the harsh reality we opened the season down 30-3 at half, then to lose to Virginia the way we did, and then BC also the way we did. What other option do we have other than not make drastic changes. This isn’t the Golden era where the sanctions tore apart our roster and depth. There is major talent on this team and to lose like we have is absolutely embarrassing.

I do agree but why start a new thread? You can pick any thread on here and say this and will fit right in with the convo. Your post is less negative than most so I do applaud that. I'm not trying to bash your opinion but almost every new thread is saying the same **** that most of these threads are saying.

This is how it's done

Name one player on offense that starts for the top 5 teams in the country?
JT4 and Brevin J would start at most places but since QB is the most important position on the field our O misery is magnified. Couple that with an OL that is below avr and you have the recipe for the #72 ranked O at 5.66/play

You are missing the point. Name a kid on offense for Pitt, LSU Virginia or BC besides Dillon who would play here. There isn’t a lot of kids on defense either. Look at how many kids that will get drafted from BC, UVA and Pitt compared to us. We weren’t even in those game if you think of it. Not even close. Not even talking about the embarrassment against Clemson and being down 30-3 to LSU. That shouldn’t happen in college football with a compatent coach.

Probably the majority of each of those teams OL, Zacchius for UVA would play, Sweeney the TE for BC would definitely play, LSU has better receivers than Cager and would start over him here.

I disagree, talent is not there. OL and QB are not talented. LB's are average. DL's, WR's and RB's are talented, add Bandy and Redwine to the mix.

So now we need to have top 5 roster to compete with VA, PITT and BC? Give me a break. Any sane Cane fan knows we don’t have the horses to compete with the Bama’s and Clemson’s of the world. But is it too much to ask after 3 years of Richt coaching, recruiting, developing and running the offense to be able to score more that 13 point against VA and 14 against BC?

My point is

My point is we aren't talented where we need it the most so yes, we struggle beating the likes of VA, BC, etc. We can't expect to win consistently with awful OL play. Do you think its possible they've gotten all they can out of the current OL? Yes we have coaching issues, play calling issues, but if you don't have talent to mold and develop its pointless. Our OL and QB situation is dismal, you can blame recruiting or whatever the blame of the week happens to be.

The talent sure isn't on the starting offensive line. Heck, I beginning to question the talent of the true sophomores and RS-freshmen on the offensive line. One would figure some young Cane O-linemen would be starting by now, or at least be getting MAJOR snaps and what not.

Struggling to win consistently? More like LOSING CONSISTENTLY! We are 2 and 6 vs. Power 5 competition over our last 8 games and that is with one of the best defenses in the country. Think about that for second... We are paying him and his son 4+ million a year and in his 3rd year this is the best he can muster on offense. That is just unacceptable.
We got a lot more issues than just bad OL and QB play. You are not this BAD on offense unless you scheme is total garbage. How long do you suggest we give Richt to get the right guys to be able to beat the VA, Pitt or BC of the world. Another 3 years... 5, 10?

Why write an entire paragraph to say that u don’t wanna read a thread? I’m not trying to bash your opinion, but you could’ve said the same thing by not responding at all.
