No missed tackles last night.
Aggression and decisiveness leads to plays like this

I was impressed with open field breakdown and attack. Also, the plays on the bubble screens were amazing. Dude catches the ball, tried one side of his engaged blocker, stops since the gap is filled, tries the other side and gets walloped by another tackler there. Every time they tried it was negated or lost yardage. Body on body too with wrap up. No shoulder tackles with guys bouncing off and regaining balance. If D played like this all year we would not have had a close game to worry about (but Clemson would have still manhandled us with our lack of offensive pass catchers that game fwiw).

very impressive. Keontra/Clarke and Hall all made some great plays. dont think i saw a whiff all night (maybe on the QB run? ehh)

Tackling was a point of emphasis for Diaz and Co. That was one of Manny's biggest concerns coming off such a long lay off. The guys put that to rest real quick.

Not just tackling (which was decisive) but also attacked the blockers on the bubbles. Too often in previous weeks we let them push us around

I mentioned it a couple times in the game thread.

‘The tackling was better than any game in many years.Guys were actually wrapping up and not just throwing themselves at runners.

I teared up a couple times thinking we might have actually turned the corner and that this might become the norm as opposed to a once every 10year aberration..

What makes the tackling that much more impressive is that we didn’t for almost 3 weeks. That time off usually leads to rust - missed tackles, mental mistakes, penalties, etc.

From the tackling perspective I can’t recognize the team playing last night. Look like I was watching Bama/Clemson/OSU defense. I certainly enjoy it a lot specially for the younger guys. They show up and made a statement.
