Summer School: Miami episode

It's the Miami better win or else the world will end rinse & repeat talking points. Notice how Bud never mentions can FSU actually close big time prospects even off a big season ? He let's those fools off the hook yet somehow all the pressure in the world is squarely on us.

He doesn't ever talk about another team on these episodes. Just sticks to the team the episode is on.

He does call out FSU about not taking HS recruiting as seriously as UM. He has stated his doubts about DJU.

So while he's a bag of ****s, it's not a full bag. Bag half full of ****s if you will

I've seen him critique DJ and definitely put out warning signs of FSU taking a step back now that all their portal production is gone. But the framing and tone of how he speaks about them vs us is pretty different to say the least.

I hear you but he's always gonna be biased to FSU. I find him to be a sarcastic self-indulging prick overall.

I mean, they ain’t wrong! We are overwhelmingly more talented than anyone we face this year beside Florida. So the critics should be on our as$!

Anything less than 11 WINS and an ACC champ is bellow US.

Stop being ***** MOPES and embrace expectations.

I mean…he has a point this year. It’s the same with Ohio State and Texas and Oregon and Tennessee to an extent, except we’ve endured much less recent success on the field. So it goes with big spending teams, and it’s easy to pick on us due to the glaring lack of success on the field + very apparent coaching mistakes.

If we can’t win this year with this talent advantage, Mario is 90% cooked here and I guarantee you three consecutive years of falling well below expectations will lead to nothing positive, particularly recruiting.

He can only sell a vision for so long. It’s just common sense - if a financial advisor was the king of negotiations and sweet talking, but you endure financial losses three straight years, are you going to keep falling for the same shtick?

This is year three and for each of his predecessors, three years was the evaluation point. For some, it ended in termination. Recruits will stop buying his selling points if he can’t field a winning team. The negative recruiting will get LOUD, and the money we have to spend will dry up because it’s not leading to success. Who wants to invest in an unconvincing and questionable leader?

It’s pretty clear to see that this year is win or no bueno, unless you’re a fully blind homer that thinks Mario is a god and will continue to bring in top 5 classes with no proof of success at Miami. Basically if he can’t win, he’s another Jimbo Fisher - a coach living on the laurels of past success but failing to do anything at his current stop, with a university shoveling money towards the football program.

Now with all that being said, he’d have to corch his way to anything less than 9 wins imo. 8 is my floor and massively disappointing (unless injuries, then we re-evaluate), 9 is expected, 10 is a good season. I expect to go 10-2 with a conference championship appearance, for Ward to ball out and for all that negative QB talk to be laid to rest. We finish with a Top 6 recruiting class and have serious momentum into 2025.

Exactly. If he can't win with this roster and schedule, when will he? If he can't light up the ACC with Cam Ward, who exactly does he need at QB? This is the biggest put up or shut up season that I can ever remember. This team is loaded, and to Mario's credit, he loaded it. Now, is he going to shoot and kill that bear, or is it going to eat DBC, again?
