Suggestions for a potential new AD?

Get someone from a school with success in football and basketball.... stop hiring clowns without prior bigtime AD experience ...

Yoy hire from Mankato State , you get Mankaka results..

For heaven's sake, stop with these former Hurricane without any AD experience... running an academic organization department is whole lot different from running a for profit NFL gig.... for example, you can't fire deadbeats in these entrenched beaurocracies... you have to target the kingpins and bring the other sheep inline.
Hecht is like a Federal government agency... full of yes men and sjws

Ridiculous dream: JOE MOGLIA

Other than that, someone in his mold. No, they do not need "AD" experience*, and anyone who has a run a successful large organization will tell you that. Lemonis will tell you that over and over.

What is needed is a candidate, man-woman-fücking flying squirrel, that knows the practice of leadership and organization mission execution.

That is why Moglia (granted he is a unicorn) was successful building Coastal Carolina.

I would reach out to him, Bill Polian, Pat Kirwan, Bill Parcells... that crowd**. Appeal to their egos in building something over next 5 years and if that doesn't work, who do they recommend Miami gets as AD FIRST, then who to pair with as HC.

*incredibly overated "trait"
**And BoT GET THE **** OUT OF THE WAY

Joe Moglia if I could just pick anyone I wanted. He’s not even an AD and I have no idea if he would want to be one. But unreal resume and looks like the perfect fit for an AD at a place like Miami.

Read my mind. Exactly who I would want.

I am not a football expert, and I would like to aim even higher, but I like Hunter Yuracheck (lots of good football hires at Houston and Arkansas) and Doug Gillin of App State. The latter has nothing to do with our recent game, he hired Drinkwitz as well as the current coach, and Satterfield came from that program as well.

Son of a *****!! I saw the thread title!!!
I honestly, opened the thread, and was hoping to hear, we had named a new AD!!
Now, I'm as broken again, as I was Saturday mid afternoon!!

From what I understand, he's assumed role of "AD/HC emeritus" due to health concerns.

Absolutely remarkable personal story that I've been trying to bring here since I joined.

100% disciple of "Toyota Way" of recruting, training, and retaining athletes in a program. Guess who else is, but isn't public about it....

Saban.

Who are some possibilities? I know highsmith will be talked about greatly on here. Who else we got?
Highsmith will get mentioned because a good percentage of our fans are idiots. I've already listed some solid possibilities on another thread, there are dozens more. The problem is that a lot of people on this board have little to no understanding of what an AD does and the competencies required to be a high performing one.

I have heard Gino Toretta’s name mentioned. Well connected in business, has contacts in media, finances, and still involved in college sports through broadcasting.

I never cared much about this position before, but I've come around to the idea that this is where it has to start, at the AD level. Need someone who cares about winning and has the power to enforce accountability and make changes if necessary. Taking a bigger picture view, it isn't and hasn't been just about football with this athletic department. Basketball and especially baseball have slid as well, you see some of the same issues.

Look at the dudes at the following…track records of solid football and basketball hires at multiple schools and probably can realistically poach:

Minnesota
Baylor
Arizona State
Western Kentucky

I know Highsmith is awesome and we love him, but we need to go outside the family for this. Need an objective pro, with a track record, that will take a blowtorch to the Hecht and rebuild it as an actual Athletic Department. Then, if they decided Highsmith should come and oversee football in some capacity, great. But going round and round on the merry go round of people with ties to the program has gotten us here.
