Really enjoy listening to there Podcast and the one that dropped today was in my opinion on POINT. Kev on the Podcast had a come to Jesus moment and said the following. Obviously all these point have been brought up at some point and just further pushes the fact AD and Administration is to blame.

Points Made

-Lazy hire- No actual coaching search happened, and if it did was so quick and so small.

The position coaches ARE doing the best they can, but it’s not good enough at Miami. With the lack of money they give Manny to use on staff and like mentioned before with his small network he wasn’t going to hire a killer staff. He’s getting what he paid for obviously minus Enos. Staff is a bunch of Nobodies but that’s what Manny was hand tied with. To get any big time coordinator or position coach we would have had to over pay and admin would not allow this.

Florida is about to raid S Fla and it’s not because Mullin is a good recruiter, he actually is terrible but it’s because they win and kids see there players getting better.

-There is a price to pay to be great, and that usually a coach who doesn’t care about Administration and does everything his way. And admin is ever going to hire a coach like that because they want a coach they can control. We will never see a Mike Leach, Urban or Jimmy Johnson coaching this team.

-Administration will always be there because they are making money. Season ticket sales are at a high and program is going everything the right way off the field. Only way to prove a point is for stadium to be empty and that’s never going to happen.

Things aren’t going to get better unless new admin is in place

And people say flying a banner calling out the admin is a bad look. Everyone sees it now but a select few the admin doesn't care about the on the field product. Glad other people are calling it out now.

I’ll admit I didn’t attend Miami (I wish I could have) but poor grades and at the time no resources to actually pay for it being out of state, so I honestly don’t give a 💩 about the look of the University, but I can certainly appreciate alumni that do.

When we hired Shannon, Golden, Richt I was always positive because kids didn’t get in trouble much and we had good GPAs, and that’s the pathetic state I was in because I had nothing else to celebrate with the team.

F ALL OF THIS, if you are a die hard Miami fan nothing is really important other than winning and winning titles. Media trashes is if we are good or bad or even if we do the right things. ADMIN needs to go and we need a football first Athletic Department, that’s our bread and butter. And if that means going to extremes (crazy people legal extremes) we need to.

It’s not that manny couldn’t have hired a better staff, he just didn’t want to.... the administration was willing to hire a 1 million dollar o coordinator even with richt after last season with the rest of his coaching staff salaries. Was going to bump up manny Diaz pay to keep him from leaving for temple. They have money but Diaz decided he wanted to keep his defensive staff(okay they at least had some credibility since they have been here for 3 seasons) and hire baker(who again?). And then when Simpson left we hired stroud, did a coaching search even happen? **** no.... When a 10th assistant coach was allowed do you think we Did a coaching search for betterment of the team and recruiting? No we hired a ga level coach patke and here we are

Miami got off Scot free of not paying richt ANY severance money. They could have done more with hiring coaches surrounding Diaz a first timer outside of enos. Richt’s first staff at Miami was more expensive than this one and better. Miami is not as broke as people think they are whatsoever. With adidas partnership and now ACC tv network revenue coming in this year that they didn’t have before they will have more money than they ever did at their disposal. Now will they use it for football your money maker is the question that needs to be asked

You can get good coaches without breaking the bank. Look at the DC NAVY hired for this year. They are light years better than what they had in the past.

You need to get guys who have at least proven themselves to be able to both develop and recruit. Stubblefield had not proven either. Neither has Banda. I dont even know what the heck a Patke is. 1 or 2 green guys is ok if you have a ton of talent and experience around them to pick up the slack.

PS - this is the worst OL I have ever seen not only at UM but maybe in college during my lifetime. It is putrid

I think Manny had a budget, and of course it’s his fault how he managed it, but he saw how bad the O was a spent the majority of it on Enos, and I know he had to pay up for Fields and POOF there went the budget. That being said I don’t think the budget is anywhere close to where it needs to be to be successful.

Say he hits a few diamonds in the rough (he hasn’t) and bigger schools come spending they will be gone. Hartley originally passed up an opportunity for more money because he loved Miami. Not many of those cats out here

FSU WAS the worst last year, and I think we beat them by a lot this year

There’s enough money to put together a good staff. Enos got a million and manny got 3 and change. That’s what we paid Richt alone. Not to mention Kul and Brown and Dugan’s pay raise. There is plenty. What really bothers me is giving Manny 3 million off the bat. He didn’t deserve the job in the first place, but monetarily speaking he didnt deserve anything more than 2. Idc what temple offered. If he wanted this job bad enough he would’ve taken 2 and used that other million to give to assistants

Also did the same thing with Patke when Coach Kool left, no search just hired other staff members. I’m cool with this if your Temple but not power 5

We could have had a chance to upgrade the staff coaching and recruiting wise with plenty of candidates yet chose a grad level assistant to be a first time power 5 coach, that’s ridiculous. Not saying patke has been bad since he’s been hired but let’s be real what cache does he have on the recruiting trail?

I actually have heard players like Patke and he’s good at X and Os, but once again no search done. With Stoud he was hired on as a consultant and once Simpson left we just plug him in. I’m not sure at what point Manny knew of Simpson’s departure before or after Stoud being in program.

What Manny should have done, HONESTLY, is exactly what he did on D. Hired all the guys he did (minus Stoud) and HE should have run the defense. We don’t need to hire a hotshot DC because ultimately they will be running Mannys Style D (his baby). We should have gave Banda, Patke and Rumph and low ball salary and just had those guys do day to day and let Manny make calls on game day.

With the money we saved we should have used it on more qualified Offensive staff members and upgraded WR, OL and RB coaches.

Yep Administration not nothing how to play the game and if he walked he walked, I’ve heard other coaches with experience as HC wanted the job you just pony up for them
