stop the cap ... bain vs. reese

6’5”, 240’ish with Javon Kearse level traits carries weight that elite technique often does not. You act like Reese didn’t have a dominant, highly productive year and wasn’t a starter on a national championship team. What do you consider dominant? Being a consensus first team all-American and B10 linebacker of the year doesn’t happen to someone that’s not dominant. The NFL looks at projections over production, which is why he and Styles are going to be top 10 picks despite not being able to touch his toes. I swear some of you people just say some mildly retarded **** on here. 69 tackles, 10 sacks and 13.5 TFLs is pretty dominant to me. Reuben was a better player, more disruptive, but he didn’t have the production that Reese had. 9.5 sacks and only 54 total tackles. With that being said, our guy was more impactful and will be a better pro, but I don’t have to knock Reese or anyone else to prop up our guy.
kearse is an outlier, not the rule

Did Parsons ever get shut down in a college game like Reese was against UM?

Here is what I don’t understand. If a guy gets whooped in college by college players, what makes NFL teams think he won’t get whooped in the NFL?
At the same time, the dude who dominates in college won't dominate in the NFL because his arms are half an inch too short. These clowns know less than they think.

Reese is an off the ball linebacker who desperately wants to be an edge because those guys make way more money. He didn’t have a single sack in the entire second half of the season. Meanwhile Reuben Bain turned the CFP into a personal showcase. There is no comparison.

Once again, just like when he was coming out of high school, if Reuben Bain was two inches taller he’d be the consensus #1 overall player.

Not sure where you’re getting the statistics but Reese definitely didn’t have 10 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss last year. He had 6.5 sacks and 10 TFL. He has 7 CAREER sacks.

Reuben Bain had 9.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss in 2025 and 20.5 career sacks to go with 33.5 career tackles for loss.

Not even a comparison.

You are mildly retarded now.

You’re correct about his totals for sacks and TFLs. I got those numbers from some site the other day, I assumed that they were accurate. With that being said, to say that it’s “not even a comparison” is wrong. If it wasn’t a comparison as you state, we wouldn’t be having this conversation, the tweet showing them in drills wouldn’t have been made, right? I’m not really high on Vell, but he absolutely has as much upside as Bain, probably more because he has physical and athletic measurables that Reuben just doesn’t possess. Say what you want about production, but let’s not act like 9.5 sacks for an every down pass rusher set the world on fire. Bain’s impact last season was more impressive than the numbers suggests. I see him having a Brandon Graham type of career. With Reese, he’s the proverbial box of chocolates prospect. I don’t know what he’ll be.
