stop bringing up other names. the only name that matters is BUTCH DAVIS. make a website, fly a banner, email fake james. BUTCH ******* DAVIS.

Butch is a security blanket that makes cutting the cord logical. He is not and should not be the first choice, but he allows you to be way more aggressive in the short list when you have a quality coach that the fan base would buy into sitting in the wings if their name needs to be called.
 
You all know **** well Golden isn't going anywhere. And even if he did, do you honestly think we would bring Butch in at this point? With as much as our school cares about academics? And with the mess that hes smack dab in the middle of at UNC?

We would all love Butch back. But its not happening. For many reasons.
 
How do we even know Butch has the fire anymore? He's 62 collecting checks for a cushy ESPN job. Sure coaching is more money, but will he be as committed as he was 15 years ago?

Butch cares about his legacy. Butch has a lot of regret about leaving UM in 2001. He wanted to win some rings. And he believes he was railroaded by North Carolina.

Butch wants his epitaph to read "He brought Miami to dominance, not once but twice."

Our graduation rates weren't exceptionally high under Butch?

Butch never suspended two of best players for missing study hall against UCLA?

Thats all well and good. And I would want nothing more than to bring him back. But currently, Butch is in the middle of potentially the biggest academic scandal in collegiate sports history. If you think our admin would bring someone in with that lingering over their head, your being delusional.

Roy Williams is more on the hot seat than Butch is, trust me. UNC B-ball is the bread winner, not UNC football.

Another independent investigation, led by former Gov. Jim Martin, investigated irregularities in the African and Afro-American Studies department after an earlier campus probe found 54 problem classes between 2007 and 2011. Martin determined the problems in the African studies department began in 1997. "This was not an athletic scandal," Martin said. "It was an academic scandal, which is worse. But it was isolated. There was no coach that knew anything about this. They didn't need to know. That was not their job."

I'm a Butch Fanatic too, but realize Golden has that Tony Robbins bull**** thing they just love. I know Butch ain't coming, but I can still express hope like "the meek shall inherit the earth". I'd be just as happy with Greg Schiano. He'll be better than Saban with all the talent he could recruit throughout Florida.

Golden isn't going anywhere. The sooner you guys soak this in the better you'll be. I've accepted it and so should you.
