Still need another CO-OC

If The Richter's son is part of the 9 coaches then who is our other CO-OC? I still don't get the John Lilly "not liking South Florida" deal? The man is unemployed or so was the situation last I checked. And he wants no part of Richt's staff? Makes no sense.

He would have been the logical choice to replace Larry Scott let he he is waiting for a proven HC like Will Muschamp to hire him at USC. This way he can reunite with his buddy Brian McClendon. Huh?

Unless Hartley is the CO-OC. Because if Richt's son is the CO-OC QBs coach some on here will be suicidal.

Correct.

Dugans is well qualified to serve as passing game coordinator. He played for Richt, knows his system, has over 10 years experience as a position coach and is an exceptional teacher according to all reports.

Same with Thomas Brown.

Richt hires guys that have played in his system for good reason.

Jon Richt will be the "QB coach" but pops will be VERY involved.

Jimbo has "coordinators" but it's his playbook and he calls the plays.

Richt did that for many years until he was confidant in Mike Bobo to run the offense. When BoBo left, Richt was forced to hire Brian Schottenhimer and the entire offense became a disaster.

I did bring up this CO-OC title. Richt did so who is the other guy? I don't like the "CO" titles as it is confusing and kinda saying "Well we know you are not ready for the big time yet so here is some help."

If it is Dugans Jedd Fisch is Harbaugh's passing game coordinator in Michigan. Best hire Folden made in 4+ years. Does Dugans possess the experience to be a "passing game coordinator"?

You are right if Richt is the HC/OC why mess the the "CO" title at all? Just say " I am the OC/HC, TJ is my RBs guy, Hartley is my TEs and Searles is my OLine coach." Case close instead people are trying to see if his son is part of the 9 or not? Is he the other OC.

So Dugans is the CO-OC Passing Game Coordinator? Or we are still waiting for clarification? The John Lilly thing is weird. Richt longest tenured asst coach especially when Scott left you would expect he would have followed. A buddy of mine said he just read Lilly wants to coach in The NFL. If so that's makes sense.

Just think...we went from James Coley running the entire offense with no help to Richt, Dugans and Thomas Brown.

Coley literally had no help.

Talk about an upgrade.

Confusing to you because of your low intelligence level.

I agree and as stated Richt is the real OC calling the plays! You guys think he will continue to install the same pro set FSU/ Weinke formations or will he use some spread type of formations. I do agree the shotgun handoffs under Coley were Putrid. The spread attack (for example with Watson at Clemson) appears to be the hottest thing going right now in the college ranks. Kinda like the dfense zone blitz craze back in the 1990s.

I hope Diaz can adjust to offensive spread formations better than his predessessor who insisted on going 3-4-4 that often left AQM with coverage responsibilities on FSU's fastest receiver!

At least most DCs know if you go against a spread option/formation then more DBs are needed. Dorito didn't know the difference between 4-3 or 3-4 which is why they had so many "12 men on the field" and "illegal substitution" infractions!

I do agree that the 3-4 or 4-3 is not the problem with Miami's D. Aranda ran a 3-4 scheme. It is how you utilize those schemes and putting players in the right position to make plays. The "bend don't break, keep everything in front of you" mentality goes against everything that was physical Miami defenses of the past. I don't know much about Diaz let's just hope he has learned something from the Texas dumpster fire of 2013.

You realize Clemson coordinators are all CO-coordinators...just to clarify it could definitely work

we will find out more when coach richt officially announces his wr coach. so far miami has no comment on dugans. while its being widely reported its not official yet.

i am sure when they make the wr coach hiring official we will get a better idea of what each guys title actually is. like is diaz gonna be an associate hc, things like that.

dugans as co/oc passing game coordinator makes sense. since hartley isn't gonna do it. u assume searles isn't gonna be co/oc as he is ol coach so u would think as an ol coach would of been running game coordinator. so whoever is wr coach will probably carry that title

ill admit its most likely dugans. they just haven't made it official yet.

Richt will spend MOST of his time with the offense, with Brown and Dugans gameplanning the run/pass games appropriately with his direction and Baby Richt shadowing the QBs nonstop.

Because of how involved in the offense CMR will be, Diaz will probably run the D without much oversight. This could be why they hired 2 DB coaches, so Diaz can focus on the overall plan and LBs and not be spread too thin helping with the defensive backfield. Coach Kool can handle the Dline without anyones help.

FSU has co-OCs, Clemson does too, TCU does too. It works just fine. 3 of FSU and Clemson's 4 were as "green" as Brown and Dugans.

I know Clemson and some other programs have "CO Coordinators". Look these coaches make a **** of a lot more $$ than I do and also know more than I do about assembling a staff. I trust that Richt knows what he doing. The man knows his offense and I am glad he's going back to basics which is calling the plays. I really thought Brown and Lilly would be the CO-OCs but for some reason Lilly doesn't want to be here. Just strange because usually your longest serving staff members are typically the most loyal and as a result follow you to your new gig. As stated perhaps he has something in The NFL? There were stories of Richt and Pruitt not being on the same page even though their clashes were minimized. With Dugans being the "Passing Game Coordinator" I guess we are to assume it will be Jones and Dugans as the COs? As you guys stated Dugans isn't even official. Does Lilly get talked into coming here? I doubt it but anything is possible.

I guess we will find out soon enough.

On another note I wonder how many times Swasey's phone has rang since his departure? All is quiet in the Swasey household I bet! Amazing players defend and yet no takers from what I have seen anyway!

Let's see how long it takes for him to catch on somewhere. Some school in Division 1 will hire him as a assistant but not lead the program. Not happening!
