Apparently wants to transfer from Clemson and has two years of eligibility left.

Do we want him? Would Clemson even allow him to transfer in-conference?

Is the conference rule that intra-conference transfers are still 2 years? I don't think Clemson would allow it either.

Sign him up. Size and experience, he can help. We have 5 scholarship DE's, I repeat..FIVE.

Take him, please.

Clemson already gave him release. Only schools they blocked are schools on next years regular season schedule. He tweeted the official release from them.

Clemson granted Johnson his release, but is not permitted to transfer to rival South Carolina or any team on the 2018 schedule, which includes Florida State, Louisville, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Duke, Syracuse, Boston College, Wake Forest, N.C. State, Georgia Southern, and Furman.
Virginia, Texas Tech, and FAU appear to also be interested in Johnson’s services. Sign this boy up, along with his teammate that is transferring Robinson.

Was offered by everyone out of HS - Cleveland, NC.

Listed at 6'4" 300. And is a RS Sophomore.

Don't know if he played much at Clemson.

But he has the size, probably some experience and probably some talent, too.

Get 'em.

Played 6 games. Had 9 tackles, 3tfls, and 2 sacks. 1 of the sacks was in the acccg.

Bethel isn’t playing d end. Diaz and the coaches only speak about him as a dt.

And 5 d ends who can all play and contribute is ok for this year.

I wouldn't object to a two year stop gap while we fix depth with the recruiting class this year (if we can). We don't even need to expect much out of him, but if it gives a kid a chance to red shirt someone that needs it, or can replace an injury we should pull the trigger.

We shouldn't be having to entertain this, but we do.
