First off, I'm excited about the foundation of this program moving forward. From TVD, Knighton/Chaney and the young receivers to guys like Williams, Kinchins and Taylor on D, a new staff is going to have quite a bit to work with next year.

That said, let's not get anything twisted - we beat an overrated, undermanned NC State team by a single point at home, in a game that our coaching staff did everything they possibly could do to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We seem to forget that Al Golden beat Virginia Tech the week before we got demolished by Clemson and we were 4-2 at that point in the year.

Last night did nothing to change the narrative aside from sprinkling in a pleasant footnote in what will otherwise be Manny's swan song. We'd have to beat Pitt on the road, win out, and then get a ton of help just to be in the conversation for the Coastal, and that alone should be grounds for termination, even if a lot of those things end up breaking our way.

As it stands, we are going to have to go 3-2 down the stretch just to make a bowl, and aside from Duke and (maybe GT) we'll have to find 1 win between FSU and VT (toss-ups) and Pitt (we'll be road dogs).
