This was my projected lineup back in October with the idea of Milano pushing for second and Alvarez pushing for DH.Anyone with a very early guess?
Only weak spot is Torres, can’t take him out of centerfield though. This lineup is absolutely stacked
Why not? There are guys that can play CF and can hit.Only weak spot is Torres, can’t take him out of centerfield though.
I’ll be a little disappointed if Torres can’t make that step with the way he was coming on at the end of last year, but the benefit of having a deep (at least on paper) lineup is that you can stick with an insane glove at a premium defensive position. Why not? There are guys that can play CF and can hit.
Let it play out and see if Torres can hit above .250?
Where does Milano fit in?
You mean forced to bunt because he can’t hit lolI actually love Torres in the 9 hole because he works counts and does the little things well: bunt, move runners over, can run, etc
With this loaded lineup you need a guy like that to turn the lineup over
He’s a 9 hole hitter who has plus speed and is arguably the best defensive center fielder in the country, I assure you it could be worse. You mean forced to bunt because he can’t hit lol
He’s a fantastic center fielder, but to call him the best in the country is a little muchHe’s a 9 hole hitter who has plus speed and is arguably the best defensive center fielder in the country, I assure you it could be worse.
He said arguably. He’s a fantastic center fielder, but to call him the best in the country is a little much
You'll be very surprised with Mikey's hitting this season. It would not surprise me to see him hit over .300. He has turned in a great super regional performance (I believe he batted .500 or close to that) into a good summer ball outing and into a good fall and spring. I think he has turned the corner and will be one of our best players (factoring in his defense, speed, and increase in BA)I’ll be a little disappointed if Torres can’t make that step with the way he was coming on at the end of last year, but the benefit of having a deep (at least on paper) lineup is that you can stick with an insane glove at a premium defensive position.
He is, without a doubt, the best defensive player in college baseball period. He’s a fantastic center fielder, but to call him the best in the country is a little much
With respect, how do you even judge/compare such a lofty opinion on that?? He’s only going into his 2nd year and has a handful of highlight plays in cf. if you’re combining practice reps, theres no way to know how the rest of the country practices. He is, without a doubt, the best defensive player in college baseball period.
I say that because JD doesn’t throw around the team best CF in decades often. He then said this year he’s the best defensive player we’ve ever had. That’s why I say that. With respect, how do you even judge/compare such a lofty opinion on that?? He’s only going into his 2nd year and has a handful of highlight plays in cf. if you’re combining practice reps, theres no way to know how the rest of the country practices.
I hope you’re right and im rooting for him, but just sounds like a wild take.
