Just curious. If you look at the number of billionaires that are Stanford grads, what’s keeping them from going beast mode in NIL?

I assume that, but the thing about Billionaires is, they have enormous egos and NIL money is chump change.
If I’m the AD at Stanford, I’d host a benefit dinner or auction for Stanford sports in general, and these guys would probably donate just because they don’t want to be outdone by their peers, even if they can’t tell the difference between a football and a rugby ball.

the kids that they are gonna go beast mode for has to get accepted in the school...so that knocks out a ton.

The first on your list has been funding OREGON bag game before nil and continues to do so.

JUST CAUSE THEY GOT MONEY DOENT MEAN THEY WILL SPEND IT ON football.

tHEY ARE THE SAME AS THE OTHER SCHOOLS I TELL PPL ON THIS BOARD WHEN THEY GO WELL THEY HAVE ALL THESE BIG MONEY ALUMNI....well their football program sucks so why would they throw money at it ? lol

Those folks dont give a **** about stanford football

Stanford is an academic institution first & foremost.

Everything else is second.

If they happen to be good at Sports every once in a while so be it, but the #1 priority at Stanford is being an Elite academic enterprise above all else.
 
Just so you know, that is not some crazy # where Stanford is all alone. That would be Harvard. Forbes has Harvard at 105 billionaires. Another study has them at 125 billionaires. Their endowment reflects it. I just happen to know that. Most billionaires are not fame horrors like a Musk or a Bezos. I would say most billionaires aren't football crazy.

Some of them are too busy trying to overthrow the government to be honest or avoiding getting in a car accident and at least one has bought another school instead
 
Andrew Luck will be as it gets over there for football unless McCaffrey decides to be the next GM.

Like everyone else said Education is a long distance first.

Cal is in the same boat.

Hoffman prefers to focus his funding on whatever will keep the epstein list from coming out.
 
It likely starts with the school making a determination that it wants to hit those folks up for money to improve athletics. I guess you can have all the rich alumni you want, but if the school ain't knocking on their doors, it doesn't matter.

I mentioned Stanford instead of Harvard since it hasn’t been that long since Stanford had a good run under Harbaugh and Shaw.
As well, if they didn’t have some interest in staying relevant in football, they could have gone the Wash St and Oregon State route rather than joining the ACC.

Exactly. A determined AD could make them relevant again, Quickly IMO.
 
None of them give a **** about CFB. They just don’t care and their fanbase doesn’t either.
