A look at some of the challenges ahead for each coach...

This is in order of hardest to easiest in terms of what's expected of them.


Richt: He's got mobility at QB. Make it work or hire a real OC.

Searels: Probably wants to use his new toys. Was a bit stubborn last year but deserves credit for finishing strong.

Rumph: Delaney, Dean, Bandy have to pick things up very quickly. Has more talent but far less experience to work with.

Dugans: It's Richards and a bunch if unknowns. Has some juggling to do with regard to keeping guys happy.

Hartley: It's Herndon and a bunch of unknowns. Will need to squeeze something out of knucklehead Irving, Polendey, Langham...good luck

T. Brown: It's Walton and a bunch of unknowns. Will need to squeeze something out of Homer, Gray, Burns. Terrible depth.

Diaz: Expectations are through the roof. With four new starters in the secondary he'll need to be a bit more careful imo.

Banda: Needs Jaquan & Redwine to deliver while the young guns learn the ropes.

Kool: Only potential issue could be keeping everyone happy about playing time. This guy has it made.

J. Richt: Nobody's expecting much out of you. If I set you up with the ball, you think you could jump up and spike it?

I made a post about how Burns is pulling off the greatest heist ever by not having to do anything since his sophomore year, yet still got a full ride here (will probably never be healthy enough to actually have to DO anything).

But Brown is right up there. He's the Offensive Coordinator of the Miami Hurricanes. He gets paid like an OC would. However, the only thing he's REALLY held accountable for are the running backs. Even when the media asks him the occasional questions about the OL or WRs, he's got this surprised look on this face. Then he's like "oh yea".

Rick is atop the list. He looked lost for an entire month of the season. No answers. Too basic. Work in some simple motion and misdirection this year.
 
You guys act like there aren't "de facto" OC and DC all over the nation in every level of football.

You guys think anyone but Chip Kelly is calling plays? Andy Reid?

YOu think Fuente aint calling plays for VPI?

I could go on and on.

Yall are the same dummies that think other staffs don't practice nepotism and they all have a staff full of former head coaches making 6 to 7 figures.

Im sure Thomas is earning his keep. The funny thing is, none of you know how much he is getting paid. yet you speak in condemnation?

Searles has the most to prove in my opinion.

OL was a big weakness last year and we have much of the same personnel. Very interested to see how the players have progressed under Searles.

We've been in the dumps for over a decade, it's Richt, period. He was fired from his last job for not getting over the hump. He has that still, too.
 
Richt and Searels have the most to prove, tho.

Especially the way they botched the O-line personnel grouping.
 
Richt = started slow w play calling but really started hitting his stride later in the year
Brown= on notice after losing RB last cycle (would be rather nice to have now)
Searels= gets a pass as line vastly improved late in year
Rumph= believe he is underrated as a DB coach... took a grad transfer and got him drafted
Duggins= our WR blocked better then we have in decades... plus a solid pull in 17' class and 18' looking mint
Hartley= we played pretty decent on special teams and bringing in a solid 2 headed monster
Diaz= TFL need i say more
Banda= Hot sauce on the recruiting trail...plus got both safeties drafted last year, great energy
Kool= Top 3 DL coach in the nation
Little Richt= As much flack as we give him... Perry and now Art S are saying how much they like the guy
