Man I loved the OB. I'm a purist and don't care about fancy concessions and club levels and jumbotrons and ****. It seems like all that stuff was for guys' dates they brought to the game. I could have done without the overflowing urinals and them occasionally running out of water (!) in 90 degree heat but it was part of the charm. But that stadium was antiquated 20 years before they tour it down and the city LOLd at the price tag to refurbish it into the modern era. It was still the greatest place on earth to watch a game.OB for lyfe.
Memories bro. Memories!OB for lyfe.
The fog of history will always be present. People loved the OB because of the great games they saw there, but let's be honest. For every legendary game, there were dozens of crap games, where we all wondered "Am I going to die in here, because it's miserably hot, they ran out of water by halftime and the Presidente on offer is **** warm". I don't miss those games where you knew that if you didn't prepare your body before hand(We used to drink pickle juice & Gatorade before heading to games, because dehydration was the worst thing that could happen), you were in for misery.Man I loved the OB. Yea I realize it's nostalgia for seeing great games there. And I realize it was a dump even by 1980s standards. But it was our dump. And I miss her.The fog of history will always be present. I voted for the OB to be renovated, but thanks to the crooked politicians in Miami, that never happened. It is what it is. That said, enjoying modern amenities including shade, good concessions and working restrooms isn't "Soft", it's being an intelligent consumer.
