Outstanding 2nd half. Defense and rebounding were much better and what we were used to, even with foul trouble and a very short bench. Malovec provided a huge spark, and Donaldson took control of the game with 11 assists to just 1 turnover. Udeh made some plays too.


Great response after a sleepy first half. I know the next few opponents stink, but we need the Allen’s back soon.
 
Drastic improvement on Free Throw shooting going 17/24.

Still can't shoot the 3 very well, but we made'em when we need to.

Tre had another very poor shooting game; but I'll give him credit, he adjusted his game & started being more of a distributor getting 11 assists. Also give him credit for playing the entire game & not getting in Foul trouble. We had no Guard depth today & he did a good job keeping himself on the floor.

Malik Reneau continues to be our best & most consistent player.

Udeh gave us a couple good buckets & had good game on the boards.

Henderson had a solid game. Turned it over a few too many times, but took good shots & was effective getting to the basket.
 
Ugly 1st half but sort of predictable given it was a noon tip on a sleepy early December Saturday. Really liked Donaldson playing more as a facilitator in the 2nd half... that is the role we want him to play the rest of the season (I mean he will still need to score but he should play pass first). With this defense we will beat some teams we aren't supposed to if we can hit a few 3s and our FTs... but with our limited shooting we will also lose some head scratchers in conference play.

Nice to have already beat last year's win total in early December... goal the rest of non-con is beat your cupcakes but more importantly make sure we get healthy for conference play, depth is going to be an issue regardless but we can't be running 6-7 man rotations in conference play with how much we foul.

Hopefully the minutes and success today were exactly what Timo needs to be a more regular factor.
 
Team depth was tested today and Miami found a way to pull away in the second half. That said, we need the Allens back soon because this team lacks juice without them. Luckily, Miami should be able to win these next few games on form and sheer talent, but as we move towards conference play, this team needs to be at full strength..
 
Malovec's day to shine. With a lot of other nice performances (e.g.,10 boards from Udeh in onlv 23 minutes on the court;11 assists from Tre).

Reneau is consistent as **** for us offensively. Not the role player I remember from his Indiana days where he was never more than their 3rd or 4th option.

This seems to be happening in quite a few places. Baylor’s best player was a role guy at Tennessee last year
 
Timotej’s 4-10 3PA performance was the best development. Should be good for his confidence and wouldn’t mind him shooting 5 to 10 every game.
