I cannot name a region that consistently puts out quality halfbacks like South Florida. We have literally been doing this since the 1970s. If you look at the last 10 years (2016-present), there are over 50 tailbacks from here that have made an impact at the college/NFL level. This class, I expect more of the same from these crop of kids. Let's take a look.
Derrek Cooper. Chaminade Madonna (6'1" 205) - Cardinal Gibbons transfer. Nat Moore Trophy winner. Another hotly-contested 5 star prospect. Powerful north-south runner with great burst and vision. Will juke you or bend your facemask. Also played LB and was recruited there as well. 10.77 100. Won a state title as a junior. Reminds me of Bijan Robinson, so it makes sense why he's going to the Longhorns. Texas signee.
Javian Mallory, West Boca (6'0" 205) - Played varsity at Westminster Academy as an 8th grader. Has been a commodity since his youth ball days. Beautiful running gait and great vision, looks like he was born to play running back. Soft hands as a receiver. Extremely productive with almost 5K rushing yards and 70 total TDs in high school career. Soft hands as a receiver. Ran an 11.92 100 as an 8th grader but is definitely MUCH faster now. Claims a 4.55 40 and 4.26 shuttle. Miami signee.
Victor Santino, Edison (6'0" 190) - Originally from Inglewood, California. Came to South Florida for his senior year. Decisive, downhill runner with great burst and vision. 10.96 100. Reminds me of Cardinal Gibbons/Iowa RB Kamari Moulton. Cal signee.

Jordan Thompson, Coconut Creek (5'11" 195) - Explosive RB/WR prospect. Human joystick. Could dodge flames in ****. No track times but plays fast. Also plays LB. Memphis signee.
Jayden Ford, Miami Central (5'5" 160) - Started out at Killian. Identical prospect to his older brothers Johnny and Jamari. Electric midget with devastating cuts. One of the best kick returners in America. No track times but plays fast as all ****. FIU signee.
Justin Compere, Carol City (5'11" 180) - Immokalee transfer. Explosive, productive physical runner that breaks a lot of tackles. Very good receiver out of the backfield. Plays much faster than his track time (11.72 as a freshman.) Runs a bit upright, which can be fixed. FIU signee.
Phoenix Donghia, Cardinal Newman (5'11" 215) - Benjamin School transfer. State champion. Google him and look at his face. He plays the complete opposite of how he looks. Speedy one-cut power back with electric burst. Great production. Looks a little chubby and may benefit from college conditioning. 11.19 100 as a sophomore but plays even faster. James Madison signee.
Jamar Dean. AMH Delray (6'1" 190) - Atlantic transfer. Jittery one-cut back with some toughness. Will drop his shoulder in traffic. Also played LB. Bethune Cookman signee.
Derrek Cooper. Chaminade Madonna (6'1" 205) - Cardinal Gibbons transfer. Nat Moore Trophy winner. Another hotly-contested 5 star prospect. Powerful north-south runner with great burst and vision.
