SOONERS QBs

Oklahoma had a Heisman winner that is drafted #1 in the NFL and he is replaced by a QB that put up better numbers in 2018 while running the #1 offense in the country while the CANES struggled with a 5th year senior and a merry-go-round QB situation and had the impressive #93 offense.

this is a huge insight (no pun intended) into Miami's problems.

This is some next level analysis.

I'm a big fan of what Lincoln is doing at OU. He's the best in the business when it comes to running a offense. But dude needs to hire a real defensive coordinator.
He had Mike Stoops who was the DC for their 2000 NC team. Problem is that OU plays in a conference that prioritizes Offense so to even get to the Playoff they got to put up 50 points a game. Not really attractive to geti SFL guys or Southern guys who are really prideful about D.

Debate about the quality of our offensive system aside, my big concern remains to be the management of the QB position on the roster.

What made Brad Kaaya leave early?
Why did Jack Allison transfer?
How could it be that Rosier could get worse from his 4th to 5th year in the program?
How is it that none of the 3 freshman QB's seemed ready to play when it was their turn?

I have no idea what the answers to these questions are. The only I can see from the outside looking in is that we have a QB coach with a subpar resume that is the coach's son. The appearance of impropriety looms large here IMO. As Vish noted in his piece, having CMR at OC and CMR's kid at QB coach, its as if we are competing with one less coach. Can the socratic method really be in place in this application?

I don't think Saban wins last night. If Tua stayed in the game.

Will be an interesting game to watch for sure. Hoping for OU to pull it off. Would be nice to see Bama removed from the title game.
OU hoping for Hurts, if Tua is healthy he was literally shred OU's back end, its sure not a typical OU defense for sure. Almost like they just traded off, now they have this hi flying offense but no D, used to be the other way around back in the day. Who was it that taught OU to learn the forward pass ? The University of Miami, taught Nebraska the same thing only they needed a second dose

Is called having a “system” not 6 plays of over 30 years

Lack of coaching, developing and just having 6 plays explain a lot. Having an offensive guru from 30 years ago it certainly not working in this era

Murray played on one of the best HS football teams in the nation. Allen, Texas. That cat was crazy good in HS. They won several state championships. Oklahoma has historically been really good at recruiting QBs. That’s the one position we struggle to develop. We have had some good talent there but we have failed to develop them.

Wonder what the odds would be for 1 .plus on what drive and quarter
I think Bama may punt once in first half and once in second. I would venture to say OU has never give up more points than they did this year, now they gotta play the big bad bear, but hey its college ball you never know

Kyle Murray might he the best HS football player in Texas history..baker mayfield was a top pick in NFL..please refrain from making any sort of comparison to malik or Perry..yeah the system OU has is great. But it starts with them being able to run the ball. The last 3 years they’ve had arguably the best oline in the nation

Right now on some Okie board, they're saying, "Look at Miami. They get a bunch of lineman drafted, and they're even better this year on defense. We just need a good DC to put in the right system."
