I’m not sure who’s better to lead a group of me but Lane Kiffen is 2 birds, 1 stone. We don’t have to hire an expensive OC.

Mario is probably better at leading but we’d need to hire an expensive OC and he’s going to be more expensive than Lane. Moot point if UM is really willing to spend alabama money on staff.

IMO recruiting is getting hurt more by the day with the uncertainty. New head coach will have an uphill battle to get recruits back before late signing period.

Herbstreit embarrassed Miami I think started this change.

lane kiffin doesn't call plays for ole miss.

i feel like somehow most the board doesn't know that. It's his rape-coverup(baylor days) OC jeff lebby

I certainly assumed he did. But is it his offense?
maybe but my point was he's not being used as 1 bird 2 stones at Ole Miss so why would he do both here?

if he's not going to be the one calling plays, i don't want him

You think Kiffin has nothing to do with play calling & the offense at Ole Miss??

He relinquished play calling to Lebby but he didn’t remove himself from the room, it’s not like he’s unaware of what’s happening. Kiffin has been a play caller his entire career, which means he & Lebby diagram & play design together.

It’s a collaborative effort, not a one man show.

I understand but OP's point was we wouldn't need to hire an OC if we hired kiffin

that seems to not be the case if Kiffin wants an OC anyways. I believe Kiffin has much to do with their offensive success but hiring him isn't a 2 bird 1 stone type of situation like implied imo

I think you’re misinterpreting what he’s saying.

He said we wouldn’t have to hire an expensive OC, meaning we wouldn’t have to hire a big name OC that runs the offense all by himself, but if you hired Kiffin he brings the offense with him & whoever his OC is is really just the 2nd command.

With Mario, the OC will be arguably an even more important hire than Mario himself, because without a top tier OC Mario is gonna have a rough go of it at Miami.

What I think OP means is, if you hire Kiffin the offense takes care of itself & it’s not a worry, but with Mario you have to have a slam dunk OC that will cost way more money.

At least that’s what I interpreted that he meant lol

fair enough, i agree with that sentiment

honestly I would be happy with lane and i'll be the first to admit i'm not 100% sold on mario

but i'm just happy for change at this point
