Some Noticable things missing from this team

Each week I watch the games and each week I'm expecting things to show up. But they don't.. Things noticeably missing.

1. We don't back down to lower opponents. I was waiting for us to let App State back in the game. Never even came close to happening
2. Even when we beat teams I expect us to give up yards and points. Is not happening.
3. Penalties. I totally expect us to give up 100+ yards in penalties even in games we win. Not happening
4. When we are up I fully expect UM to take their foot off the gas. Not happening

Last year we might have been 3-0 at this point. But it would have been 3 ugly wins with a ton of point and yards given up. We would have been happy with the 3-0 start but you would have had this sick feeling in your stomach like something was still wrong. That's not happening to me right now.

Also there is a reason why even though you have played lesser opponents you are ranked 14th. Its because the world sees few weaknesses in your game. They can see you are well coached and they know when you are tested by better teams you will respond.

Agreed my friend. This week provides another nice test. It seems each week this year is slightly more difficult than the next, culminating with FSU. I'm excited to see how we perform on the road in an ACC game under Richt. The team has been focused, we'll disciplined and intense through the first 3. We've played very physical as well. Should be a nice win. Go Canes

Agreed. While I've tempered expectations by telling myself " it's only three wins against chumps", it's blatantly obvious to anyone who's followed the program that the way they've gone about beating these "chumps" is a night and day difference versus previous seasons. Even while Kaaya struggled slightly against FAU, the game was never in doubt and Miami was in total control. In previous years a team like App State would have been a serious upset contender. Now, they get blown out of the water right from the opening play.

It's taken a lot of people a long time to realize that Folden ain't here anymore...

i had that "here we go again" feeling when Kaaya threw that pick on the goaline against app state and they scored making it 24-10....kaaya responds with bomb to richards and then we go up 31-10 a few plays later...that's when i knew that old "golden fold" was gone.

OP, I applaud you for watching the games and analyzing the obvious differences from last year and not just rolling with the facgity "we haven't played anyone, so I don't buy any changes".

Anyone who doesn't appreciate how much tougher and more tenacious this team is and the incredible difference in the approach to football is simply a **** waiting around for a loss so they can say "see, I told you guys we're an 8 win team!"

We are night and day from last year. If you can stomach it, I'd recommend some people watch a game or two from last year even the one against fau and you'll see how much better we are.

The thing I think is vastly underrated on this board is the fact that none of our opponrnts can game plan against richt, he hasn't called plays since 2006 and it's speculation but I think we can all agree we haven't shown nearly any of our playbook

FSU (who we have played well the last two years and could have won) is going into this game blind.. This is the year we take it. Add on the improved performance, discipline, and execution OP Is speaking of and this could be a GREAT year

Biggest thing I've noticed is there's no blood leaking from the groin area on this team

The toughness is night and day. Pre-season, other ACC coaches were saying that our guys didn't compete or that they were inconsistent in when they competed. That's definitely no longer the case.

Some other noticeable things missing from this team:

1) pants above the knees
2) black cleats/socks for all uniform combos
3) fear the tie shirts on #canesfam
4) JuanFromLittleHavana Footballhelmet reidz5 Sonny Long

You know what I notice Mother F**king gang tackling >>> UqNxbc4.gif

No more gap control and teaching young wolves to stay in their lanes, not attack the football...
So when 1 player would miss a tackle then it was big gain.

It's the scheme dummy!

I typically find myself reading your posts and agreeing with most of your thoughts. Then comes the inevitable "facquit" and "****" stuff. Over and over and over. It's tiresome and annoying.

It's a message board and obviously you can do what you want. You're not hurting my feelings. But you post often, most here are familiar with you, and you generally bring a lot to the board. I just don't get it. Takes away from every single post of yours I've ever read.

Anyway...

Agree but am really interested to see how we do against middle of the pack acc teams. If we dominate those games I will feel much more comfortable that we are a lot closer to the top than I thought when richt took over.

it's not speculation. It's fact.

We know from the spring game that Richt clearly has packages and plays for Herndon and NJoku on the field together in multiple formations.

We have yet to see many of Richts wrinkles and formation packages with this talent group.

****, have we even ran a RB screen yet?

How many catches do our backs have out of the backfield?

I can assure you it isn't speculation.

Why are you so soft?

How do you even watch football with your ********s tucked up into your eyelids?
