A thread can only have one thread prefix and if its an article, it automatically gets an article thread prefix. This has the side effect of preventing recruiting articles from having the recruiting year of the player being profiled as its thread prefix. This in turn prevents the thread from being filtered by recruiting year. The end result is if you try to filter for recruits by year, the articles don't show. And if we try to use the article as the primary discussion thread for a player, it means the primary thread for a player won't show in the results.

@Andrew , is there any way to add multiple thread prefixes to a thread?

I'm guessing @Andrew will say its not possible. In the Bball board, we stopped using articles as the primary discussion threads for players because there were too many of them. I really don't want to create a duplicate thread(s) for players in the football recruiting board but I don't know how to solve this problem with articles and recruiting year thread prefixes.

Does anyone have an alternative solutions or are you ok with a dup thread if the first time a player is mentioned on the recruiting board is an article?

Couldn't Author of article put the year in the title?

I definitely do not want to have several threads on same player like Basketball had

That would be an improvement and definitely better than the status quo but would only help if you searched for the recruiting year. If you filtered for the recruiting year, it wouldn't show even if it were in the title.

@Trinton Breeze @Sebastian Font and @Kamdyn Burton˙ can you please add the recruiting year thread prefix to your forum article threads going forward? This will allow us to filter for recruits by year and eliminate the need to have the recruiting year in the article subject/title. Plus it will stop people from constantly asking what year the recruit is. @Andrew has verified it is possible.

Also would be nice if you could retroactively add thread prefixes for the recruiting year for all your older articles.

How many times have people asked them to do this? Feels like everyday, at this point they are just doing this on purpose to **** people off. And well....it's working.

This thread by @Sebastian Font has both the Article tag AND recruiting year thread prefix so confirmation that @Andrew is correct.

Respectfully my articles always have the year in the title and I try avoiding duplicate type articles/threads all the time.

I only put articles for commitments and direct OV/ unofficial interviews I’ve done

Wasn't directing this towards you. You do a good job, it's the other two.

@Kamdyn Burton˙ and @Trinton Breeze now that we have a confirmed working scenario of article tag and recruiting year thread prefix, will you be able to use the recruiting year thread prefix going forward?
Oh my bad, I always thought y’all meant by putting the year in the title is what y’all wanted. I see now, yeah I’ll definitely put the prefixes for the years now, to be honest I didn’t know this was possible. Sorry for the confusion for the past months.

To be fair, I think some people were talking about the title, because it was unknown if the thread prefix would work w/articles. The main request is immediate visibility to the recruiting year without having to read the article.

I went back all the way from now to January and updated all of them with tags of the years, so it's easier to read for y'all.

Sorry again.,.,.
