Solid read for those looking to educate themselves on what a future Miami offense should look like

I'm telling you we need to go after Matt Cananda as the next OC. He will likely be out of a job come season end at Maryland. Just imagine what he could do with the talent we have compared to the talent at Wisc and Pitt when he was there.

We've only been talking about this for all of three years. At this point, I'm back out there out of blind loyalty and expect zero different to what we've seen. If we see a wrinkle or two, great. If we don't, expected. If we see an overhaul, I'll be surprised. Philosophy mattered when we ran a reactive defense. Philosophy matters now that we run a "just line up and play perfectly" offense.

well...if it had been for 30 years then he would have listened

I'd implement a basic logic test, every 3 months, for any future Head Coach and staff member. The rationales, as I've mentioned, are so weird I don't know if they're joking, have just lost it or are basically laughing because they don't care. 6th grade debate captains can pick apart some of these arguments.

I think they care. No one willingly wants to put themselves under the microscope and have all this negative attention poured unto them. They believe in what they are doing to the point of insanity.

But, if every player on offense makes their blocks, and the QB throws the ball perfectly in stride, our offense could score more thatn 14 points per game!!! It's just executuion.

Smh....does this seem reminiscent of Richt and his offense....."A horrifying percentage of the Cowboys’ pass plays look like a variation of the same route combination. Three or four receivers, all of whom start in isolation on the outside, run to certain points downfield and turn around. That’s it. Sometimes their depths are staggered. Sometimes they’re not. There are no mesh designs. There are no rub routes. There are no bunch concepts. Occasionally, receivers will cross paths or run complementary routes, but just as often, they won’t. The Cowboys’ staff has done next to nothing to scheme their pass catchers open, so they’re left trying to create separation on their own—and considering the overall lack of receiving talent on this roster, that’s a challenge, even against a decimated secondary like Seattle’s." thats from this article.

It’s crazy how I was watching Clemson and they run just about the same things as us

Brian Baldinger posted a tweet breaking down the Cowboys offense against the Seahawks. They ran all-curls right at the sticks and the Seahawks defenders just squatted at the line to gain waiting for them to break right in front of them. BC game was pretty much the same thing except with slants instead of curls. Packers are the most slant-heavy team in the NFL but they have Rodgers to save them. Safe to say Richt will never have a prime HOF QB at Miami...

I have no idea, but I will say this: an offense doesn't have to be complicated to work. But if it's simple you have to have great athletes and they have to execute.

I'm sure Richt's offense can be very successful, just not with the guys we have. And that's the problem. Richt is insisting that if his guys just did what they so clearly can't do, everything would be fine. With KD and the 2001 OL this offense would score 45 a game. But we don't have that, so we need an OC who can call plays that exploit weaknesses and play to our strengths.

I think I saw NO run that play this past weekend and score a TD, it's not rocket science!!!

Not quite the same but it was a smart tendency-breaking call. They went empty shotgun in the RZ and motioned Kamara toward the backfield which is usually token motion to determine coverage as the back returns to his spot offset the QB (10 personnel). But instead they gave him the ball on the jet sweep and the D was caught totally flat-footed.
