I'd copy and paste the article here but formatting issues ****ing me off.

Awesome article and I've been following most of those stats all year.

Is a great site for geeks like myself.

Statistically speaking, this is essentially what Al Golden wants his football team to represent. Big Plays on Offense. No Big Plays on defense.

As our yards/play would suggest, we're outstanding at both. Granted, they are often TOO outstanding at not giving up big plays, allowing lesser talented teams to march down the field, which takes away possessions from your big play offense. In theory, it's a great practice and going forward I believe it's a sign of future success.

The critical point of contention, as LuCane has stated numerous times since Golden's hire, is nuance. There are slight tweaks and adjustments that can/should be made to completely optimize the defense and turn them from being a very good defense, to an outstanding defense. Risk taking at opportune times and even some surprising risks at inopportune times could prove to be extremely beneficial to the overall defensive concept.

It's headed in the right direction as the article suggests. He's had 2 weeks to prepare for Florida State. Time to kick the door in or just be "pretty good on paper."
