$15.7 would be the the cost for the exclusive franchise tag for a DE. The Dolphins placed the transition tag on him which pays him less than the franchise tag($12.37 mil), but leaves Vernon the right to negotiate a long term deal with other clubs. The Fins then have the right to match that deal. The Fins did this last year with Charles Clay who ultimately signed a long term deal with the Bills.

Hope he hits FA and goes to my Cowboys. Dolphins wanna give him 5mil, but he will prob want more

He'd tear the league up behind the Cowboy's o-line. The Fins o-line doesn't hold a candle to what you guys trot out there every Sunday, and Lamar still averaged 4.8 ypc behind it the last two years. It would be worth it for the Cowboys to overpay for him. I hope the Fins are smart enough to pay him before he hits the market.
