...blocking punts on special teams, coming back from behind to win games, etc. Did something change for them within the last, say, five years? It's like something that was holding them back is gone and now something is holding us back that wasn't here before. I can't quite put my finger on it. Theories guys? :wink-new:

Anyway, it's too bad we don't play Temple this year. A loss to them would be about as clear of an indictment of Golden and No'D as you can get.

He could go 12-0 bear OSU and nobody here would want him here just bc he coached temple and played at Penn St

Gorlden should have never sold himself as a NC winner.

He should have been happy to be the "rebuilder" for his career.

But then again...maybe he was smart as fvck for playing the UM admin like he did to get that phat payday and then run back to "rebuilder" mode.

They did replace the special teams corch about 5 years ago, maybe thats it.

Dude, that's so crazy! Cause our current special teams corch sucks *** too. Couldn't be the same guy, could it?? Somebody Google it and let us know. :highly_amused:

So Golden did turn Temple into a winner. How about that. All it took was him LEAVING! Get the message Blake. Al coaching team = Bad ; Al leaving team = good.

Someone already said it......Al Golden is the textbook rebuilder, but he has that glass ceiling that will always keep him from being a championship coach. Temple should be grateful that Golden brought in a culture that made them think they could win. They should also be grateful that he left so that the next guy could take it to the next level.

no telling if a guy like Addazio even takes the Temple job after Golden left if they were not at least "respectable". Looks like Golden left his pillars but it took other guys to build the edifice.

Golden has 2 fatal flaws, gameday coaching and staff retention

Actually it's 3...

I really think that his biggest flaw is thinking that he is the smartest guy in the game and that if his system isn't working, it's only because the players are too dumb to do it correctly. In 4+ years he hasn't picked up on the fact that his players would dominate in a system that allowed them to react and play rather that trying to analyze every play before it happens.

How is Golden a textbook rebuilder if Miami has gotten worse since Shannon? Additionally, Temple has had two different head coaches since Golden left. This will Temple's first winning season since 2011 so I'm not sure what type of culture of winning Golden brought to Temple.
