Hey, does anyone know how many we can sign for the 2017 class? If im not mistaken, we get all of our scholarships back. We had 5 EE's last year with bought the total for 2016 to 13. Could we do like UF and get a healthy number of EE's to have a bigger class? I hope we get a lot of quality in this class with 2 projects/reaches at most.

The only thing that will effect the numbers is the 85 man limit. However many graduate, leave early, transfer, etc is what will be in play this year

Most likely we have room for 25+ so don't sweat it

Class will be deep and solid

This will definitely be a top 10 class just based on sheer number alone. Richt purposefully didn't take any fillers for the '16 class for this very reason.

Dont we free up 3 more schollys because we are off probation too

Due to the nature of the sanctions and Golden's roster management consistently leaving us 5-7 under, we will only be freeing up the 1 required annual scholarship since the others were paid off early.

Hey brother. English please. How many commits next year? I was assuming upper 20's.

We'd need a TON of attrition to sign 30ish. We only have 11 returning seniors, with currently 80 scholarship players on the roster with this new signing class. That leaves only 16 current spots. We will certainly have attrition, but my guess is 22-24 ish.

Just because we signed a smaller class this year doesn't mean we automatically sign a huge one the next year. Numbers aren't there for it. Tiny senior class this year

Is it truly necessary to question a down vote? But if you must know it was an accident. Though in fairness there's a chance it won't be a top 10 class. I'm thinking top 5 but we won't know for a very long time. But once again I didn't even know I down voted your comment.

Stop with the "we have 11 seniors and are at 81 which means we have 5 open spots so with out attrition we can only sign 16..."
It never works out that way. Stop it. It will be closer to 25 than 16.

Where did anyone say that in this thread? The only post that mentioned those numbers was just saying that attrition of 6-8 non seniors was more realistic than the 10 plus that everyone else is taking about. If we have 14 non seniors leave in one season, there's going to be a lot of ****ed off high school coaches and **** in the media about what's going on at Miami

The most recruits you can now count toward a past class is 5, and you need that many to enroll early. So 30 is the max class you can bring in assuming you do not go over the 85 class size.

i dont think this is true.

we're going to see a TON of attrition this year with a brand new staff. and we'll need it in order to get the talent level what it should be. weed out some of those soph's & junior's.

Keep hearing this but who else do people feel will be shown the door after this year? We dropped alot of the "Golden special" dead weight a month ago. Really the only guys I see that MIGHT qualify are TMcCrary, DLangham and BLoftus. I wouldnt call that a ton. I see alot of these kids "Richt caliber" kids and kids that will want to stick around. JMO.

I mostly agree with you, but I'm not sure that Ryan Mayes and Mike Smith are Miami caliber either. Also, I'm not sure that Fines is a good fit for the new 4-3 scheme. I hope all six of these guys turn out to be studs, but, if not, then that could be six more slots open in the next class.

In addition to cutting deadweight, we might lose one or two underclassmen to the NFL draft. For example, Njoku, AQM, and Willis might be candidates if they have a good enough year.
