Anyone heard of possible similar deals at The U?

This is where Booster funded sites/companies will push money legally for the SEC and other spending schools.

An interview for $10k? Wow.....
Yeah, I first thought it was a deal for access throughout the season, but on rereading I’m not sure.

These pieces of **** stole my idea.

It would be malpractice if the school and community weren't getting involved.

CanesInsight dot com should set up a fund, too. Crowd source this ****.

Pay these MF'rs to come do a podcast spot or do a commercial for the website have them wear CanesInsight dot com shirts or do CIS paid posts on IG/Snap/etc.

@DMoney make this **** happen.

That website gets more traffic than every Canes site combined. Our best year is 1/4 of their traffic. They have close to 60M posts on their forum. Given the amount of posts on their premium board, they easily generate over 1M in revenue annually.

All for them to never win anything lol.

Guess you better let NYSOM back in..... I kid I kid. You guys really should consider something like what @BoxingRobes said. A paid portion of the sight that interviews players and passes the money on to them and the sight gets the add revenue from the clicks. lol open a portion of the forum for us to vote on what questions to ask certain players. Eventually throw the videos up on youtube and get revenue there also. Does NIL extend to HS kids? Get some recruits interviewed! If you don't, somebody else will.

I thought these deals had to represent fair market value.

Shouldn't these expensive interviews get dinged as pay outs in excess of true value?

What board is there to determine fair market value? This was my point I made in another thread as well. "Dinged" by who exactly? The rules surrounding this stuff are nothing but a sham. There is no way to enforce them because there is no way to determine fair market value on almost any of it, and nobody to enforce it anyway. If they were worth 10,000 for an interview than that is their market value. When Baga pays someone $15,000 next that will be their's. I agree it's a joke but nobody is stopping anything. They would get drug into years long court battles if they did for implementing a salary cap when there isn't one

Not necessarily arguing someone should be dinging them or that we should be complaining about it.

Just wondered if anyone familiar with the "rules" regarding NIL had any insight as to how/if these endorsements/fees are going to be regulated.

I recalled discussions stating that there couldn't just be large sum payments that didn't make sense. Like in this case if Jimbo and other football staff aren't taking home 10k per interview to talk on camera, it stands to reason that players wouldn't/shouldn't be getting paid significantly more than what other team personnel receives as compensation for similar appearances. Granted I am sure the appearances are written up in their official contracts and tied to their huge salaries.

I'm all for utilizing NIL in every possible way to get paid and don't really care how it's done but, it does feel like having a team funded site pay huge fees for a single run of the mil interview is not in the spirit of NIL.

I'd have nothing to say about itif the kids got paid 500 per interview and then had to give an interview 1 or 2 times a week during the season to make that 10K.
