Before my time but some of the Canes diehards might remember Shawn Purdy, a RHP for Miami in ‘90 and ‘91. He is the father of Brock, starting QB for the 49ers. Shawn was drafted 4 times and made it all the way to AAA.

He was also a QB recruit at Miami. Only lasted a year with the football program if I am not mistaken.
