Nah, he didn't ruin anything at UM.
Blame that on Shalala and the trust fund aholes comprising the BOT.

Touche.. but he's still much better than Blake IMO. Just remember, at one point, Al had about 95% of us fooled.
He fired Pelini at Nebraska and they are going to go from 9-4 every year to no bowl game.
He extended Al's contract.
I'd rather have Blake who does nothing than a guy that makes things worse.
I'm not saying I want Blake, but he isn't actively making things worse.

If you think the Nebraska program is better off with Pelini as their HC than Riley then there is no point in going on with this discussion. Riley inherited a team who just lost their best player in over a decade along with several other NFL studs. There is a reason USC & other top tier programs have went after Riley over the years while Pelini was on the hot seat for like 5 years straight. Give him a little time.
Once again, at the time, most of us applauded the extension (or at worst, was indifferent)

He fired Pelini because Pelini was a jackass and a PR nightmare who offended fans and the admin. It's one thing if you're winning BCS titles--then maybe you can afford to **** people off. It's another thing to be a jackass whose teams regularly end up with 4 losses, and often choke to dogs like Northwestern and Minnesota.
