Serious question about the season.

I know i will probably get bashed for this post but how does everyone feel on the scenario we started the season 2-0 versus 0-2. In terms of the players buying in in the locker room. Obviously they have given up now. But would the morale of the team be different, similar to the 2017 season, where we started 10-0 and got to #2 in the rankings, even though in reality we sucked, and just got a few breaks and won a bunch of close games.

basically what I am trying to get at is this-
1) You put KJ on punt return against UF and we probably don’t fumble on the 10 yard line. We win that game if that doesn’t happen.

2) 4th and 17 against UNC and they convert. We win that game if that doesn’t happen.

Those two coaching decisions falls on the staff 100%. So to me while I am rooting for Manny to get canned along with Blake James, my question is do we still lose to VT and GT if we started 2-0? Similar to 2017, we would maybe be undefeated and in the top 12, even if really we weren’t that good, and just won close games instead.

I imagine sitting in a room with 3 screens showing us against Florida in different simulations with each of our QBs starting. Would love to see how each of our guys could have done. Well two, we know how Jarren did. But I feel you. If we come out 2-0 this teams is ranked and has a ton of confidence.

The truth would eventually come to light just like it did when we started 10 - 0. Team has too many holes and a coaching staff that has so far proven to be incapable of maximizing what we have.

^^This^^
I said in another post that, even though it's painful, it will be better in the long run that we took those L's.

Some may say we were only a play away, but
realistically, should we have even been in a close game vs VT, GT and CMU heading into the 4th quarter in the first place?

EDIT:
Note that we were almost 3 touchdown favorites, at home, in each of those games.

This is the facts...I would be about 92% as angry as I am now if we beat VT.

-28 (win by 5), -14 (lose outright)..-18.5 (and that came down a point with the Thomas suspension, lose outright). Can one of these games be closer than expected, especially in the first year of a new regime? Sure. Can we blow the VT game with 4 TO in the first 12 minutes, if we show a pulse and win the other 2 comfortabley, not optimal...BUT WTF. It shouldn't come down to god **** FG. GT fans are fine with them getting blown out this season, they don't expect to be competitive with the system change away from the wishbone! CMU ranks around somewhere between 100-110 in any power ranking worth their salt.

These were all at home and we slept walked 25 minutes and looked like dogs**** against Bethune Cookman...Ranked somewhere around the 215th best football team if you combine FBS and FCS.

Time travel movies make clear that what you ask is impossible to answer. It will just keep getting worse if you try to change the past

It would be like the 2017 season. We were fake good and got lucky a handful of times. Should have lost 1-2 more games in that regular season.

TBH, I didn't expect to beat UF, and based on that game, I was a bit hopeful. Thought we could possibly be a top 25 team. Problem is, we haven't gotten any better, and some would argue we've gotten worse since then. If we stay the same week after week, and everyone else is getting better, we suck. And here we are.

We could easily be undefeated. The only reason we are not is coaching. Pathetic decisions at pretty much every turning point.
