Secondary Coach

Maybe the problem with our secondary or backend is that we have two different coaches teaching two different fundamentals and maybe we should just get rid of Banda and rumoh and have one secondary coach to get the DB’s playing assignment football same thing with linebacker!

What exactly has Rumph done while here??? Nearly every transfer CB has sucked *** with the exception of Colbert. Outside of Corn Elder, our corners have been nothing more than average, including Mike Jack and Bandy. Ivey is absolutely horrible. His recruiting is not exceptible in the slightest. Almost let Bandy slide, almost let Couch slide. Christian Williams is only here because he wants to play corner and not safety. We consistently miss on our top guys at the position and then he doesnt really seem to ever have a Plan B guy. Even when he does have a Plan B guy, he misses on them.

Think we should just hire DB Coach and have Banda Coach LB and maybe Jess Simpson as D coordinator/ Dline coach And fill out the rest of the defensive coaching staff..

IDK, I don't think the coaching in the secondary is the problem. I think the play calling doesn't match what the capability of this unit this year. Neither Banda or Rumph call the defense. That is Blake Baker. I can't understand why they continue to play single high safety as their base when our DBs get beat consistently. I'd like to see more Cover 2 man and Cover 2 zone.

The level of play by our corners this year is plain bad, safeties are no shining stars either, but we see them making plays once in awhile.
Honestly we should look to upgrade on every position coach, DC and suggest to Enos he would be happier somewhere else.

Coaches on a staff for the 4th year don't all of the sudden become terrible. You have to look at what has changed. We have played young players in the secondary that haven't played well at times. My issue is having them play in the same formations that our veteran DBs have played in the past. Actually, we seem to be playing more single high safety than the past few years which is not a strength of the current defense IMO. I could understand single high safety against GT because they don't throw the ball well. However, in obvious passing situations it makes no sense to be in single high safety making it an easy read for the QB to throw to the 1 v 1 coverage. We seem to play single high on every 3rd & long with blitzes that leave holes in the defense for a team that has issues with its coverage.
 
The bartenders time is up here, he can’t recruit worth a sh*t and big ******* deal he got a couple guys drafted in the late rounds..
Guys like Jaquan would’ve made it in spite of him..
