This is a really funny stat you need to throw into UF and SEC homer's faces.

I'm not making that up. Here is the link. mcubed.net : NCAAF Football : Conference vs. Conference records : SEC vs. Big East

To make it even more weird the SEC was 13-12 all time vs the Big East when we left after the 2003 season. From 2004-2012 the SEC was 12-17 vs the Big East. The 2004-2012 period corresponds roughly with the SEC's self proclaimed dominance period, but they were 12-17 vs the Big East.

I'm guessing that was the lower tier SEC teams playing the Big East teams. The better SEC teams wouldn't schedule many games like that. They'd rather go out of conference with teams like UAB or Savannah St.

the SEC won 2 NC in the 90's, they were an average conference with good depth. The BCS ushered in the SEC suckfest with teams getting several 2nd chances to get back in the race with rigged rankings

This is sooooooo fact!

To be somewhat fair I wonder how many of these were bowl games that featured something like the Big East's 2nd best team vs the SEC's 6th best team.

Who was the better SEC teams then? 90's were dominated by either UTenn or UF... Bama, Auburn, and UGA were trash... LSU was mediocre... SEC dominance is fairly new...

SEC only had two teams until recently... With the exception of that early 90's Bama squad, SEC was a two team conference. Utenn and UF...

Ummmm... Sec was still the best conference in the 90's...just no where near the way there were in the 2000's

Auburn went undefeated in 93...bama won the chip in 92...i can't think of any other conferences in the 90's with 4 good teams.... Miami, VT, syracuse(McNabb yrs) in big East, big 12/8 Nebraska and Colorado and k state(oklahoma sucked in 90s),pac 10....hahahahahahahahahahahaha, big ten the usual Mich and osu,acc had fsu and pop Warner teams

For the past few years the SEC East division had been no better to worse than the ACC Coastsl. It's only the West Division that's good right now.

After those early 90 runs they were only a two team conference. UT and UF practically ran that conference until 2000. They were far from the best football conference. Auburn and Bama went through down periods... LSU was decent... UGA was still hoping for Herschell to walk through the tunnel and the remaining teams were just average... They took the next step inthe early 2000's...

I agree they took the next step in the early 2000's...i still don't see who was a better conference than them in the 90's...

The suck fest was all about the Big 10 prior to the SEC run/ SEC-ESPN partnership. Ohio St, Michigan, and Penn St were all good in the 90s. You might also be able to say the Big 12 between Nebraska, Kst, and Colorado. That is with Oklahoma and Texas sucking at the time.
