thru July 31st. I would expect other conferences to follow..

"ALERT-Hosting or conducting of all in-person camps & coaches clinics for @SEC schools is suspended thru July 31. As previously announced, all other in-person athletics activities, including practices, meetings & other organized gatherings remain suspended thru May 31,” the SEC tweeted Friday afternoon."

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey further stated he is in no hurry to make a determination about the season.

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, e
arlier this week, suggested that July 15 could be the deadline for a season to be played without delay.

“For the most part we’ve looked at a six-week, preparatory window,” Bowlsby told radio personality Paul Finebaum. “There’s gonna be a re-acclimation period that I think can be accomplished in two-plus weeks. And beyond that I think you get something that looks a little like a regular preseason, and that makes July 15 about the time you have to be back at campus. You don’t just flip the switch and everybody shows up.

“I think we have to start getting some positive news by the middle of June to the middle of July at the latest. If it goes later than July 15 with return to activity, then I think we have to take a hard look at delaying the season.”

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Dr. Donald Yealy said on Thursday he believes the coronavirus death rate is much lower than feared, and he sees hospitals returning to normalcy soon.

I could care less about camps and if anything this is a competitive advantage for us due to proximity. We just need practice and the season to start close to on time so we can prove we are a new type of team.

IDK what the staff is doing in terms of "virtual visits" but I hope they have something solid together. I've seen some feedback about a few of these "virtual visits" - schools like OU have gone all out in making them personal. Kids want to be entertained and shown the "love" right now. If the 'dead' period is extended until early August we are going to have to hit this forum hard.

Clemson officially cancels all summer camps, etc.

"All summer camps and educational programs on the University’s main campus have been canceled for the duration of the summer. This includes Clemson's middle school and high school football camps. "

No one permitted to be on campus before June 1st as of today. Will be re-evaluated during the month of May

Such overkill...My god.

Country trying to open back up. These idiots are closing stuff down. Clemson's stance seems reasonable though. Hopefully UM is doing something like that.

Everyone will reopen June 1st. Guys are panicking on here about perceived panic. There's really no panic because these camps are wholly unnecessary to starting the football season.

These schools are playing chess by pretending to be ultra-vigilant and canceling these HS camps. They're appeasing the "be safe forever" community. Meanwhile, what they're actually going to do is open up on June 1st. That gives them a full additional month to pretend to give a **** about people and bolster testing while knowing all along that they'll be playing football.
