Sean Taylor and Jerome Brown

Don't they both deserve to be in the NFL HOF? If their careers were too short there should be an exception. Does anyone known if either of them have been considered?
These guys are two of my favorites and I cried like a baby when both passed away. Both were on their way to the HOF IMO, but neither has been nor probably will ever be considered.

I will never forget when Reggie White(RIP) announced Jerome's death in front of the Philly crowd. He held it together as much as he could to his credit. I cant watch the full clip for fear of doing the same and thats been over 30 yrs ago. With ST, I just knew he was going to pull through but when the pronounced him, my day was done.

Body of work isn't enough.... but both would've been first-ballot if their careers and lives didn't come to untimely ends. Tragic in every sense of the word.
It sucks because otherwise we all know they were good enough.

Though alive and well… Sterling Sharpe’s injury shortened career is keeping him out. For the 7/8 years he was in the league only Jerry Rice had better numbers during that time but his body of work isn’t enough to get him in.

But Terrell Davis is in. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, but Davis won two SBs (1 MVP), NFL MVP, and was Offensive Player of The Year (2X). And still took 11 seasons for induction.

No question JB and ST had future HOF written all over them and their tragic deaths still haunt us, but Davis’ career isn’t the comparison.

But it is actually a good comparison- besides the sb stuff. Those two were the most dominant players in the league on their side of the ball just like Davis was on his side of the ball- imo.

Either way- Jerome not being in the college football hall of fame all this time is the most ridiculous thing possibly in all of sports. There is a good argument that he was the most important player on some of the most important teams in the history of the sport. And yet SEVERAL other DTS that were actually playing college ball at the same **** time as Jerome, somehow have been in the hall for a long time now. Insane to me. This, however, is the first year he is nominated. So maybe he will finally get in.

That was more for Sharpe sorry. I think Sharpe should be in.

No, they weren‘t the ‘most dominant players in the league on their side of the ball’. JB played next to one of the top 2-3 DEs of all-time, Reggie White. Ronnie Lott. Deion Sanders. Derrick Thomas. Cortez Kennedy. And in STs time, in nearby Baltimore, were Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. And thats just two.

Look, I get it. I’ve been a Cane fan since the Kelly days. Every time I’m reminded of JB and ST I stop and think what could have been, should have been. Both were future HOF players.

Terrell Davis is not the comparison. You can’t remove his accomplishments.

Now, if the NFL HOF wants to create special category for these situations, I’d be down with that.

Sean literally bled out (Femoral Artery) the Medi-Vac Helicopter was delayed alittle because of High tension wires from a Sub-station near his home, making it tougher to land.

Hard disagree,. I watched both of them very closely. They were indeed the most dominant players on their side of the ball when they died. It;s just that the way they dominated didn’t always result in them making the play. I remember watching the pats play the redskins and play after play Brady had to either throw it away or dump it down. These plays were 100 percent affected by the insane coverability of ST. He controlled just about every play even when he wasn’t anywhere near where the ball wound up. Jerome similiar but from the middle up front. Completely destroying the picket, causing the offense into a disastrous play that was often cleaned up by Reggie white or clyde Simmons, but make no mistake- Jerome effected an insane amount of plays. Two guys who dominated the game without the stats you would think would accompany them. And of course i love Ed. But Sean was controlling the outcomes of a higher percentage of plays by the end, then Ed was.
