Schnellenberger should be in HOF

Great article and spot on, Schnelly should already be there. The names going instead of him are laughable.

Who took over a tougher situation @ Miami: Dorito Golden or Howard Schnellenberger?

is this a serious question? Schnelly came into a program that had never won. players came here bc they believed in HIM. Golden keeps selling players on the history of the U, which Schnelly, JJ & Butch built.

One post into a thread that has nothing to do with Al Golden and you already got a troll bait out there.

Congrats.

Howard was greatest coach ever at the school that turned college football on its head and saved it from death by boredom. It is no-brainer for him to be in the Hall. He was the most successful of the Bear's and Shula's assistants. I love JJ but Howard left him a Rolls and it took him four years to drive it home! The only thing you can hold against Howard is that he is so classy that he makes all the other college coaches look like scum.

Didn't Schnellenberger have a high reputation when he first came to The hurricanes after coaching the dolphins? That would have been a huge help for recruiting. He also built Louisville and fau. Building 3 division 1 teams, with two being top flight football schools should have gotten him in years ago. I got to meet him recently. Just briefly, seemed like a nice enough guy.
