Schedule

We were great in the 80’s and we would play anyone anywhere. We are all still here after 15 years of mediocrity because we believe that we will somehow get back to being dominant again. You don’t attract top recruits by playing Central Michigan and FIU.
We had to play that schedule back then to establish our program and because were an independent. That type of schedule will not get you recruits. Winning will hey you recruits.

This is an epically bad take man. We played a total dog**** schedule year in and out when we were in the Big East and kids were lining up to play here.
Wrong. We didn’t even join the Big East until 1991. In the 80’s I can remember us playing Michigan and Notre Dame among others when they were really good.

Dude wtf are you talking about? We played Michigan maybe once?

And we play the Irish now. Plus Bama, LSU, the Turds, Michigan State and Texas A&M out of conference, by choice.

Go look back at our Big East schedule in the 80s and 90s. It was a crap filled mess that makes the Coastal look good.

Just because we weren't afraid to play anyone anywhere doesn't mean it actually happened every year..

“The school's marching band is the Band of the Hour. Aside from being an independent in baseball, the Hurricanes were a full member of the Big EastConference from 1991 to 2004. In 2004, the school became a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).”

The only tough game that A&M scheduled was Clemson. Bama, LSU, and Auburn are divisional games, .and Georgia is one of their crossover games. As for who they "chose" to schedule....

Lamar
UTSA
Texas State.

That's does not quite have the feel of 'we will play anyone, anywhere!'

Yup, pretty much like our Big East years although we typically had one more tough opponent than their three other ones. Used to hate those OOC games against FAMU for instance.

Either way though, A&M's schedule this year is tough. It sure doesn't look like a down year for the SEC which people are always hating on here.
